Spring Public Codes STINK!

Yeah anything is better than nothing but I agree the "ticket upgrade" code really isn't that great of a savings. AAA rate is still better.

Totally agree...the ticket upgrade stinks!

It's really no savings if you factor in you can't get the AAA room discount rate with the ticket upgrade and if you aren't a fan of the waterparks you really get left out on this one. I wouldn't mind it so much though if you could get the AAA roomrate and the ticket upgrade, I'd save on the Hoppers then.

Still hoping for something else to come along.......

The code worked out well for us...

We were planning to go just for the waterparks and one day into a major park. For 4 days at WDW (3 waterparks and one hopper day) we only had to buy a single day ticket for our package... and the AAA discount on the preferred Pop Century room was the same as the rack rate for a regular room... I guess we'll walk a bit further for the same price...

:sunny:

It sounds like it is the same package they offered for our trip in Jan. Since we knew for sure we would NOT be swimming I went to TicketMania and bought the tickets seperatly. (sign up for the MouseSavers newsletter) Then booked the Dolphin. I felt like we got more for our money that way. :)

You do realize you can use the options for Pleasure Island or DisneyQuest?

if we were planning on going during that timeframe we would take a trip or two to those venues, as we have never been to PI, and only once to DQ....

It's nice for people who were already planning on going to WDW, but certainly not going to seal any new deals like the 7 for 4 or free dining packages of the past. Perhaps they're already expecting high crowds? Still hoping for better to come along for my August trip, but that Swan/Dolphin deal is looking more and more appealing...

I'm hoping for a deal. The last 3 summers they always had a some deal for the end of Aug. I have already booked WL 8/18- 8/25 but with an deal the Poly may be within reach. One can only hope and wait. I don't expect to see any deals until the beginning of mAY OR PERHAP June according to past years

I got a survey about the free dining after we used it last summer. It asked how we thought the deal was, and how we thought the deal was compared to other discounts in the past. I hope they send surveys out like that about the ticket upgrade, and that people are saying that they would rather see a room discount. I have no interest in using any of the options other than park hopping when we go this August.

Since this ticket upgrade special has to be booked by the end of this week, I am wondering whether there will be another special for the time frame after June 3rd. I always wondered how much before they discounts are released do the travel agents or CMs really know what's coming. Since I am a TA now, looks like I might just find out whether the DIS knows first (as I kind of expect! :thumbsup2 ) or if there is a "heads up" announced to agencies.
