Does anyone have an insight as to whether it is better to do spring or fall dapper days? Is the weather generally better for one? Are there generally more ride refurbs during one? Busy-ness of the parks surrounding the actual Dapper Days?

Fall will be HOT! You also get the benefit of Halloween time bring in full swing. Crowds shouldn't be too bad during the week after the event, but all weekend it will be packed with locals checking out the Halloween festivities.

The last 2 fall Dapper Days have been incredibly hot, especially when you're all dressed up! I didn't make it to the spring DD event last year, but I'm going this year and hoping for cooler weather.

I think the busy-ness depends on if there are other events going on at the same time. This year, spring DD coincides with a cheerleading competition and a marathon. Add 20,00 dappers to that and I expect it to be very crowded. The last 2 fall dapper days have been very crowded also.

Actually, I don't think there was much effect, if any, from Halloween because the fall DD is usually early for that. It was in early Sept., but as Disneyluvr2 said it was really hot both this year and last. We're used to heat but we were still finding it very tough to be out in those temps, which were ~100º both years we went. The crowd level was not too bad but spring is really the main event for Dapper Day so there are a lot more activities then. However, it's also crazy busy from what I've heard. Lots of other events coincide with spring DD and it's on a Sunday, whereas the fall DD is on a Friday.

Last year, Dapper Day's Fall Soiree and Expo coincided with Halloween Time's opening weekend, so there would have been some Halloween crowds (whether they were locals or not, I'm not sure, but there would have been lots of people coming out to see the first weekend of Halloween Time).

This year, Dapper Day looks as though it is happening after what I anticipate will be the start of Halloween Time. Although we don't yet know what Halloween Time's first official day/start date will be this year (I tend to think it will not be 9/11 because that is just a bad day to start a celebration), it will be in full swing by the time of the Dapper Day Fall Soiree festivities on 9/18.

I think we will do next spring, then. I am just so excited to go, I'd like to do it asap but I do not do well in the heat. I just hope there aren't too many refurbs next spring like there are this year.

I was there for dapper days and it was soooo hot! We still had fun but we had to take more breaks to rest and more potty breaks too lol

That was the busiest I have ever seen the parks-busier than any time during Thanksgiving week I have been (never been during xmas or NE-but doubt it was that busy). From 6 to closing it was hard to move around-even at 11 I could not set up a tripod anywhere for pictures-constantly getting bumped into.
