For anybody who went April 4-8 to Disneyworld this year (2005) how were the crowds? Trying to figure out next years plan. Am also wondering how it would compare to the first couple weeks of June, crowd wise. Any help is appreciated.

We went from the second through the ninth, and although it seemed very crowded, we were able to ride everything we wanted with fastpasses. As I've mentionned in several other threads, this time of year can't be beat as far as the weather is concerned. It was slightly chilly in the mornings and evenings, but gorgeous during the day. We went to Typhoon Lagoon one day and the temps were perfect! I felt that peoples' moods were affected by the great weather. I guess I was expecting the worst, but was pleasantly surprised by the level of civility we experienced during the week.
It may also have been the case that Disney staffed well in preparation for the crowds. Getting through the bag check lines was always very quick and efficient, for example. We breezed right through the entrance turnstyles as well. I did have PS's for many of our meals, but after about three days of that, my DH overruled me, and we did more counter service restaurants. We didn't have any trouble with those either. We were always able to find an empty table to sit at, even though we found ourselves eating at peak meal times. All in all, I'd recommend this time of year, and am already hoping that we can return at the same time in 2006! :teeth:

We were there March 25-April 1 and I was prepared for the worst! We made sure we were there for every park opening and EMH we could do and grabbed fast passes as soon as we could (but saved them for later in the day). The parks were actually quite pleasant from opening until about 11 am...then they got CRAZY. Wall to Wall people! So...we walked in and out of lines early in the morning and went back to our hotel in the afternoon. We'd come back early evening, use our fastpasses and catch up on evening shows, shopping, etc.

It really wasn't too bad, we'd definitely do it again. I've never been in June...so I can't help you there!

We were there from March 31st thru April 7th. The crowds were heavier in the beginning of our stay but even then getting there early, having a plan and using fastpass all helped make it pretty manaageable. We did leave MK on the 31st and go back to the room for a couple hours when it got super crowded (around 2?) and then went back in the evening but that was a good plan for us to allow the 2 year old to nap. Later in the stay it definetely was less busy. I would go at that time again (since we need to plan around school) keeping in mind how Easter falls. Not sure if I would want to be there the week directly before or after easter if I had a choice. The further away we got from Easter the less crowded it was.
