We just returned from our first trip to Disneyland during spring break so I thought I'd offer up a few thoughts for others who may be on the fence, like we were, as to whether spring break is a good time to go to the parks. Do it!

  • The parks are absolutely beautiful in spring
  • None of the horror stories I read about gate closures, wall to wall people, etc... were true
  • Parks every day were manageable up until about 12:00 PM each day so if you have EE or MM you can get a lot done in those early hours. EE was at 7:00 AM so by noon we knocked out a bunch of rides and then grabbed lunch, hit the pool, watched a show, etc...
  • MaxPass was well worth the cost and enabled us to do all the popular rides multiple times
Now, don't get me wrong. There were a ton of people at the parks every day! Particularly in DL in Adventureland and Frontierland. By noon every day the queue for Pirates stretched all the way to the HM. Indy often had lines that stretched back to Pirates. Having a plan for the day is essential and we saw many people who were obvious first timers who had no idea about which rides to hit first, how FP works, MaxPass, etc...

So if you have been debating whether spring break is a good time to go my opinion is yes. Beautiful parks, perfect weather and a great time had by all in our group!

We are heading there on Thursday and I've been nervous, but this gives me more hope for a successful trip! Thanks!
