Spring Break or June?

In October 2017, we took my DS and his best friend to Disney for a long weekend. It was her first trip and a fabulous time was had by all. They will graduate in 2020 and are both huge Star Wars fans, and I want to give them a return trip for graduation. I want to go for at least a week this time and I can’t figure out a time for them to miss that much of school except spring break or just after graduation at the end of May. I have no illusions about how crowded GE will be, but we will hopefully book some of the special before/after hours events either way to help work around the crowds in other parks.

I have never been either at Spring Break or at the beginning of summer. Can anyone give me an idea of which would be better to aim for? I know it’s still way in advance, but I’m going to need lots of lead time to plan and I would appreciate any advice!

Early June will be less crowded than spring break. It will be hotter but that just let's you spend more time at resort and pool, maybe a water park. Also, they won't have any school work to worry about.

THIS!

I have been both times! And even though my summer trip was years and years and years ago....I can say I was quite suprised by how light the crowds were while we were there. My spring break trips are more current of course, but I guess because of when my spring break falls here in NWF, that week at Disney wasn't too bad at all!

My vote is for late May/early June. DD and I did this time in 2017 during the grand opening of Pandora and we were surprised how manageable the crowds were. With that being said, we will be arriving in the World this Saturday :)

I would choose June. It can be pretty warm, but it’s quieter than late June and certainly calmer than at spring break. We’ve been at WDW during spring break and I wouldn’t reject it out of hand, but I’d choose another time given the option. Just my two cents! :)

We have been many times in the summer-June and July. In 2018 we were there for both spring break (second week in March for us) and mid June. The weather was great in March, but the crowds were nuts. I have read about Disney not having as many CM during less crowded times which may keep wait times at rides more similar. June wait times were better. However, we always have a plan and were able to ride a fair amount in March. But during March, just walking through the parks was difficult. I am from Texas, so I am used to hot and humid. My June trip was much better.

I would do June.
We are also considering a WDW trip next year and we have a college-age daughter along with a son who will be a junior in high school. Neither one of them can afford to miss a week of school and I'm not willing to do spring break (not to mention, their spring breaks are not on the same week) so we are probably going to do August.

Our late May/early June trip was much less crowded than the spring break trip we just took. But the weather was so much better that honestly I'd rather go during spring break than in the summer. Our May/June trip was amazing but it was so hot and uncomfortable outside.

We are trying mid April/Spring Break for first time next month after going in the summer 7 years straight (late June early July or late July early August). We shall see how the experience is and very much looking forward to it. Enjoy your trip!

I've been at nearly every time of year and around all the major holidays but not on the actual major holidays (except for Easter - we were there for the actual day) and the worst trip I took for crowds was in early to mid March (not around Easter). It was the only time I willingly wanted to get out of a park because it was just so unpleasant. The trips I've taken in June have been warm but pretty good when it comes to crowds.

It depends on which will bother you more. Big crowds or heat. Spring break is much more crowded but cooler temps. June tends to be less crowded, but hotter.

Most of our trips have been in late May/Early June and it can get crowded. But if you rope drop and use your fast pass's well you can easily manage everything. As you can tell I am a major Star Wars freak and in 2021 when we go back we are planning 2 full days in HS and on the choose your poison day we have my daughter has suggested we just do Galaxy's Edge (her way of being nice since she requested both the deluxe dining and The Poly).

We've done both. I'm a teacher and limited to when I can go. I don't think I'll ever do spring break again. I walked in MK and left pretty quickly. I was shocked at myself!! June was hot (July was another level of the inferno), but like others have said, we plan to do morning, pool, then evenings this June for our Mother/Daughter Trip. Still crowded, but not spring break crowded. Now, having said all that . . . If, in the future, spring break is my only option - - Imma goin' with an awesome plan of attack!! hahaha

June. We are here now for our Spring Break and have done both times. Spring Break is way more crowded. Also, it can be chilly in the Spring, depending upon when your break would be. It’s too cold to swim today and was for us yesterday too.

I went the first week of June in 2017 and thought it was great. Crowds weren't insane by any means. We went with a good plan and literally did everything.

June no question. Been the 1st week, just take a rain jacket or poncho, people leave when it starts raining.

Spring Break is a vague, long time. Not every college is out the same week. My kids' bring break was usually the first week of March, but that's not everybody's experience. I think it's hard to predict exactly.

We've gone over June and July several times, and found that June is generally less crowded than later in the summer.
