Spring Break or Early October?

Hello! I'm just looking for opinions on the best time to visit WDW. We will not be able to return for another two years (boo-hoo! ), but it's never too early to start planning, huh? :)

Since our kids are in year-round school, we have two options without having to take them out of school. First, Spring Break time, when the crowds are nuts, (they get 3 weeks break) and in October, the 2 weeks after Columbus Day. Yeah, hurricane season. I want to stay at POFQ.

So, when would you come, and why? Also, are there better deals/incentives from WDW if we choose Oct. over Spring Break?

Any thoughts, suggestions, comments, or complete biased opinions are welcomed! :listen: Thanks in advance!

We always go in Oct or late Sept. By Oct, hurricane season is winding down, we have never had a problem. Also, there tend to be some nice deals in Oct, or at least the portion of Oct that is off-season. Also, less crowded, and not so hot.

October is MUCH less busy than Spring Break! Also, as Andy said, don't worry about hurricanes. Prior to last year WDW had closed exactly one day in 33 years because of hurricanes!

I'm laughing - we're going both in early October AND over spring break! The way we figure it, we'll use the Oct. trip to hit the parks, and the spring break trip to stay away from the parks, but hang out at the resorts, do mini golf, eat long meals, etc.

But I agree w/ the other posters - go in Oct., avoid the crowds.

I would go in Oct. The crowds aren't so bad and you could go to MNSSHP.
I'm not 100% sure about this but the F&W festival may be going on in EPCOT.

We went over spring break 5 years ago and the crowds were crazy!

But whatever you choose I'm sure you will have a great time!

Another vote for October. Smaller crowds, the wonderful MNSSHP is going on and the Food and Wine Festival at EPCOT. In the spring you do have the Flower & Garden show at EPCOT but nothing special at MK. Plus the spring brings all the crazy spring breakers. You probably have longer park hours in the spring but the additional crowds really limit what you can see.

Of course I had to be there that 1 day, but it was in September. Honestly, October is great for all the reasons already mentioned including F & W Festival. I think we were there for the first one of those too but it was nothing like it is now. And MNSSHP and the weather and I bet you can't tell I'm a little biased toward October.

Thanks, everyone, for your input. I was leaning towards October, and now you've convinced me!

It would be great to see the F&W Festival, that's for sure. We don't stay out late since our kids are young, so it wouldn't matter if the parks were open late, or not.
