Spring break at WDW?

We are thinking about visiting WDW over spring break this year. We've only been there once in October. All other visits have been to Disneyland and always in late Sept. Our spring break is the week after Easter. Is it absolutely crazy with people then? Are the lines huge? I think our vision of how crowded the parks can be is probably a little skewed.

The week preceding and the week following Easter are, I believe, second only to Christmas as the busiest times of the year. It will be very, very crowded, especially compared to October.

We were there the week before Easter this past spring. It was very crowded. We found it busier than at Christmas time in 2002. We did expect it to be busy and planned for it. We had fun, still did see what we wanted to and would do it again.

We stayed on property and took mid day breaks everyday except one (we were meeting friends who were staying with family in a different part of Florida) and that was the day Daylight Savings Time started (who needs sleep ).

The only park we felt was over crowded and not fun was Animal Kingdom. That could be because we were really tired (day after the marathon day) or because they really did not make the walk ways wide enough. We did the safari, saw the Festival of the Lion King, had lunch at the McDonalds and left for our resort. We swam the afternoon away and then went to Epcot for the evening- not crowded! Think they were all at Animal Kingdom

If your only experience was October, you will find it much different. Yet the parks are open later. I do not like pulling my kids out of school for more than a day, so we do vacation when the kids are out. If you are prepared you will be fine.
