We were thinking about going to DL for spring break but are afraid that it is going to be way to busy. So now we are searching for a place to go. We thought about San Diego but are afraid of to many drunk people and don't want my kids to be around that. Any ideas where would be a good place to go with kids who are 10 and 4? We are open to anywhere that is warm and has things for the kids to do.

Spring break runs all through March and APril for any given week for schools and colleges. Drunk people in San Diego? I don't understand what you mean. At the hotels? In the streets? There are more partiers in Mexico over spring break than in San Diego.

Yes drunk college kids on the beach. We don't want to expose our kids to that. I have been reading several articles and they have all said that San Diego is one if the most trashy and wild spring break towns. Not what we are looking for.

I live in San Diego, and that is false. If young people party, they go to Pacific Beach, but there are many kid friendly beaches that have zero college students interested in going to those beaches. Coronado Beach by Hotel Del is very family friendly, and rated one of the nicest beaches in the world.

I've visited San Diego twice during spring breaks in the last 10 years, and I've never seen anything that I'd consider inappropriate for young children. Quite the opposite - it always seemed very family friendly, and honestly, pretty tame. The closest thing to trashy & wild was a beach farther up the coast where a radio station was running some kind of promotion with a party, contests, etc. But even there we didn't see anything obscene or crazy. I'd think San Diego would be a great place for a family vacation over spring break. Over the border in Mexico is a whole different story, but San Diego is fine.

Never saw drunk folk in San Diego when we went during spring break. However, we spent time at the zoo, animal park, La Jolla, Coronado, Legoland, Sea World, etc...
