Spring Break 2008?

Hi,

We have just booked a 2 week vacation begining April 3rd 2008 staying at the Port Orleans Riverside. Have started to do some reading into trip planning etc and am alarmed that every guide book states this would appear to be the worst time to visit. Can anyone tell me when Spring break is? Apparently 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after are extremely busy..... am hoping we miss it...

I'm not sure what Disney consider's to be the official Spring Break. Seems that it is vastly different for colleges versus regular schools and then they all vary town to town. Our SB for regular school kids starts the week of April 21st for 2008.

We normally hit Disney is March. Even when Easter has fallen at the very end of March, we never thought it was very crowded. IMHO, crowds in March and April wouldn't bother me because if I have to wait in some lines, I don't care since I am not dying from the heat and humidity. Crowds only bug me when it is during the summer and I am wilting in the sun.

I believe Easter is March 23 next year - our Spring Break begins the 21st and we go back to school March 31.

i think April will not be the same as this year because Easter is in March, so April will probably be best time!! And hopefully not peak season

Wow...your post made me go back and double check my dates...thought maybe I messed up for the time my kids are off. Nope...our school system is only giving Good Friday and Easter Monday off...then they get a SB late in April.

Everyone has a different theory on what March/April will be like next year due to Easter coming early. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Plan your vacation for the time you can go and just have a good time. No sense worrying about things you can't control. You'll have gorgeous and mild weather in March or April. Have fun!

Thanks for the info - we are travelling from the UK which is why we have been able to book so far in advance.... the schools here have given the Easter weekend as a holiday but then our school 'Easter' holidays don't start until 4th April. We didn't want to keep the children out of school as our eldest will be 9 by then. Seemed like a better time of year to visit rather than the summer when they may not have coped too well with the heat...

Now what will the weather be like?

We love visiting Blizzard Beach and lazing around lazy river..... will it be warm enough to still do that?

Have only ever been in October before. Do Disney do anything for Easter? We shall miss going to MNSSHP - have been to that twice now and have loved every minute of it!

you are right. that is exactly when our spring break is too. We plan on going during our spring break again in 2008. In 2004 we were there exactly on Easter Sunday and yes it was crowded but it was manageable. Just have to teke you time and just relax. Spring break is the only time we can go so we have no other choice. Just go have fun and don't worry about the crowds.
