Spring Advantage 2012

I am hoping that since the DL applications for the Fall are live, WDW ones will be up right around the corner.

I hope so to! I just want to apply and see if I get in! I hate all the "what-ifs" and uncertainties lol. I'm crossing my fingers!

Hello all! I'm also applying for Spring 2012! I'm only a sophomore, so this is my first time applying. My first choice is character performer, but I'd also like FSFB, Merchandise, or Attractions.

I know that anyone can audition for character performer, but most people who get it are theatre majors. I did theatre in high school, but I'm not majoring in it and haven't done it for a while. Is there special preference given to theatre majors, or are they just more likely to pass the audition? What I'm getting at, is, do I have a chance as a Spanish major?

I'm almost positive that your major doesn't really matter. My best friend from high school passed the audition and made character performer for Fall 2011, and she hadn't been in any shows since high school either. She double majored in Business and Communications. I've also heard of theatre majors not passing. It all has to do with your audition. Just smile big and show 'em your stuff! :goodvibes

I was a CP in Spring 11. I got a restricted rehire status due to an attendance termination. I had two attendance reprimands very early on due to immaturity (calling in at the drop of a hat). This was followed by a spotless two months with four Service Fanatic cards in a five week stretch. Then I got sick twice in extremely short succession, leading to two more reprimands - meaning I got terminated. As far as I know, I got along well with my entire management team, etc. and my performance on the job was always rated well.

What I'm curious about is whether or not I have a chance of getting hired for Spring 2012, or if I'm probably in for a longer wait.

Some people hear within a couple of weeks that they have been accepted and some people hear within a couple of weeks that they have not been accepted and some people hear within a couple of weeks that their status is pending. Then it is a painful wait until they hear one way or another.

Ahh, do you know why its like that or is it completely random? I was accepted in 5-6 days after my interview. My buddy didn't hear anything for 6 weeks and then when he called he found out he didn't make it.

Go out of your way to try and get you job back. Call your managers and explain what you just told us. Try and get them to give you a recommendation. If you just show them that you desperately want to work for disney again, im sure they will give you a second chance.

I'm also auditioning for character performer! I'm not a theatre major, but I'm still very active in community theatre and I work as a choreographer. They don't really care what your college major is, what they care about is what you do in the audition. Yeah, a person could be a theatre major, but that doesn't mean they will perform better in an audition than you will! :thumbsup2 Just remember lots of energy, and over the top animation. I worked as a character performer for two years at a theme park by me, so I'm trying to channel my experience!

You heard in 5-6 days? That's all?? That's awesome! :dance3: Any advice for me on the web interview? I'm so nervous about it! Also, when did you apply, like what month?

Umm i want to say it was late September. It was right after my campus presentation. For the web interview just don't be passive, and be yourself. You'll do fine.

For the web interview, just don't contradict yourself...answer consistently.

Wow, that's amazing that you heard so quickly. What was your role? Did they email you or did you get the coveted purple folder? :) And thank you so much for the advice! I hope it goes well. :goodvibes

I was a lifeguard (my first choice). I got the purple folder in the mail!
