Spouse is anti-Disney

Thank you for the info. We are trying to decide what would save the most money. We are wanting to do more character meals this time.

We did Chef Mickeys and LOVED it! Actually its our see how the kids grow picture they take when you eat there  The giant plate behind shows how the kids grew up way to fast by the height they stand each time a photo is taken. :sad2: As far as character meals you can still eat anywhere you want. I found it cheaper to do it ourselves then the DDP when we stayed at the Contemporary. The savings of staying at SOG and buying your own food in parks will always be less then staying at a Disney resort. Believe me I have done the math LOL

Good luck,
Lew

We got married at Shades of Green and stayed there for our Honeymoon and the location benefits and the fantastic prices are definitely worth staying there! I wish we were staying there on our next trip!

I just wish mine would go somewhere. The only thing he wants to leave Kansas for is Drag racing. I love to go to the drag races as well but I want to other things. I like to take cruises and he doesn't so I go with his parents. Getting him to go and see my family is like pulling teeth because we have to leave Kansas. I don't hold it against him by any means but I am not going to stay home all the time either. We compromise on the years that I do not take a vacation somewhere fun then I get to go to the drag races with him but on the years the girls and I take a fun vacation then I don't go to the races. It is working out good this way. We both get to do what we want and the other doesn't miss out either.

Wow, I honestly can't understand a fellow guy who wouldn't like WDW. That's crazy!!

Seriously they have to either be 1. out of their minds or 2. don't understand what's available at WDW. That simply doesn't make sense. :confused3 I think what you need to do is go buy them a Disney Imagineering book. If they look through that and then feel the same way, then i think they are a lost cause. ;)

Thankfully I have a DW who knows I'm a big WDW and Walt fan. She likes it too but is a little more practical than me. She ROCKS!

Ok, maybe anti-Disney is harsh but DH certainly doesn't appreciate it as much as I do. I think it's more parting with the money every year, than an actual dislike for Disney, when we're there he always has a good time.

Are we married to the same guy?? We don't go every year and to admit it this year we are going but only because our DD who has autism was actually asking to go. It's hard to say no to that because it can be like pulling teeth for her to tell us what she wants for breakfast and she is a totally different kids when we are there. Unfortunately her brother is disappointed, he wanted to go to DC this year thanks to my sister and her big mouth about the air and space museum Anyway DH said yes and since we had a water pipe break the other week we have pushed back our vacation. I have told him that now we will be there during MNSSHP. DH asked "will DD like that?" :dance3:

I can sympathize - my husband doesn't like Disney either...and you know what we LEAVE HIM AT HOME....the last few times he went he made the trip miserable for the rest of us ... so he can stay home. HE is the one that has missed out for the last few years (granddaughter is now 7) and HE is the one with no fun memories. He does not have any hobbies or interests besides reading - so he sits home and reads...THE REST OF US HAVE FUN. I pay for or WDW trips with no help from him - so I go and do what I want and he can do what he wants (read).:confused3 :confused3

I do not have this problem my family of Five are all Disney Nuts my Hubby is the biggest, but not by far. We have told our two older DD's that they are not allowed to marry any man that does not like Disney or one that we feel like we can't convert. :lmao: and he will be put to the test. My girls want to get married at WDW so that will be a major test right there.:thumbsup2 . I though they would role their eyes and think we were crazy but they thought it was a good quality to have in a husband.:cool1:

Your disdain for your spouse is obvious. Do him a favour get a divorce.

I mean reading. How unAmerican.
