Yeah, they get waay too much. Nobody needs to sign a contract for $80 million a year. Nobody needs that much money.

What bugs me the most is that our nation is over $9 trillion in debt, so why not cut back on pro athlete's salaries and put a couple hundred billion towards the debt?

It is very unfair.
There's people who can barely afford there homes from the economy, yet celebs get paid millions just to make a movie.
The way we are headed, a lot of people will be on wel-fare and this country will be going into a depression.

Yeah. And I'm fine if they're getting paid more than say doctors or lawyers because what they do takes talent. But not million and million of dollars. Nobody needs 3 mansions.

Heck yeah they are overpaid. They don't do anything worthwhile; they aren't helping anybody. They're just running around with some sort of skinball trying to get it into a goal. Big flippin whoop.

They should have major pay decreases, and that money should go towards something useful, like curing cancer and other diseases.

want to have athletes make less? okay. then you need to lessen the incomes of actors and musicians, heck, everyone in the entertainment industry! fair is fair.

First off how many of you go to the games or buy there jerseys. Well then your endorsing them too, they get paid 90% of all the income that are made from the jerseys. So its worse then just the salaries I read somewhere that Brian Urlacher makes nearly 3.5 million a year in addition to the contract from jersey sales. And the Nike Lebrons shoes wow that guy doubles his contract in 1 year from those shoes.

Actually, I think that singers/actors do get paid a bit too much too.

Singers makes a bit more sense though, seeing as they release records and they get part of the profits. I think.

the fans drive up the price the player's are paid. the more fans that come to the ballpark, the more the player gets paid. it's not entirely the players demanding money, it's the amount of disposable income the ballclub makes, and they divide up the money between the players (a portion of the money).
