I just bought my husband a sports jacket to wear to Tritons to dinner? I was wondering if it is worth bringing or will her feel over dressed? I am wearing a simple black dress and heels and was not sure if he should wear the jacket and button down shirt (no tie) or just a shirt and tie? I want to take a family portrait that night also. Please help.

I brought a sport coat to wear to Tritons on our February 2003 cruise. Those that did not wear a sport coat or suit were the minority. I wore a button down shirt w/o tie.

the dress code on board varies so much...it depends on which seating you have, which rotation, etc. On our 7 night, my husband wore his tux BOTH of the formal nights, and he did wear his sport coat to dinner at Lumieres. There were people who even wore shorts to dinner. We figured that we don't get a chance to do this that often, we wanted to do it all the way. He definitely won't be overdressed.

Geez Louise,
I dont think it is going to kill any guy to wear a sport coat or suit and tie a couple of nights a week. Those that dont will definitely be in the minority and feel underdressed( unless of course you have absolutely no class at all). Im a definite blue
jeans kind of guy but I sure dont mind doing this once in a while . My advice: Go with the flow !

Thanks for your replies. I bought the sport coat for the trip and I am definitely bringing it. I too feel like we don't get to dress up often so this is a treat. My husband is a blue jeans guy too, but hates to feel out of place being over or underdressed. I can't believe some people wear shorts to dinner, when it clearly states a dress code to follow. I don't get it. Thanks again.

Only 7 days to go.....
