We find ourselves unexpectedly snowed in on Halloween weekend! I'm perusing Netflix to find some spooky movies to stream. So far the best I've come up with is "Little Shop of Horrors." Do you have any other suggestions?

We've seen Jaws and Sixth Sense, but Psycho or Carrie are TOO scary. I was interested in some of the other Alfred Hitchcock's but none of them are available to stream. Neither are most of the Tim Burton movies.

Out of the movies streamable on Netflix, our tweens liked all of the Poltergeist movies and the Tremors movies. Swamp Thing is also a classic. There are quite a few that are PG13, but aren't streamable (Devil, Drag Me to Hell, Insidious) that are worth watching if you can rent them sometime. Our older two loved those!

Paranormal Activity 1 and 2
The Others
Little Shop of Horrors
The Happening (not scary but could be too disturbing)

I'm trying to think of things that wouldn't be too scary but since we are a scarier the better family its hard.
I just re-read your OP and saw you mentioned Little Shop of Horrors  We just watched that the other night, it is one of our favorites.

When A Stranger Calls. But the original with Carol Kane, not the reboot from a few years ago.

This movie scared the c**p out of me and it wasn't gory or bloody at all. :scared1:

ABC Family has a lot of great movies on this weekend, they are showing Practical Magic and Hocus Pocus and Disney's Haunted Mansion. The Hallmark channel is showing all of the 'Good Witch' movies. Hope that helps!

ABC Family is also showing Coraline. I'm not sure what time though. I generally don't go for those types of movies, but I love Practical Magic, although it's kind of a 'girlie' movie.

In my queue right now:

Return of Dracula
Attack of the Puppet People
Creature From the Black Lagoon
King of the Zombies
Face of Marble

Movies of my generation....

Scream, and I know what you did last summer. Haven't seen the latter yet.

My kids love the Halloweentown movies, my babysitter's a vampire, Hocus pocus. Beetlejuice might also be good. Perhaps the Witches of Eastwick, but it's been so long since i saw that I can't remember if it is tween appropriate or not. Maybe Ghostbusters? (again, can't remember if there is anything inappropriate in there or not).
