Hi all,

We just returned from Disney yesterday, last friday my DD 16 and I ate at Spoodles, I have never had such a bad meal. I had Shrimp with Linguine and my DD had steak Kabarb. The garlic lemon sauce on my meal was terrible and the Steak my DD was also terrible. I hae never eaten tere before and read good things about this place, maybe it was just us but we did not like it at all and will never return. Sorry if some of you like this place JMHO

Thanks for posting! We have 2 more ADR's to make and were considering Spoodles since we never ate there before. I had heard some bad things about it recently.

Thanks - we have ADR for Spoodles for our upcoming May trip and I was just trying to convince my DS & DH that maybe we should cancel Spoodles and add O'hana. DH was OK with that but DS really wants to keep Spoodles on our ADR list, since we didn't eat there on our last trip (Dec. 05). Maybe seeing this post will help to change his mind. :)

Sorry you had a bad meal....

May I ask....where else you ate...and was it any good.
Kerri

There are also plenty of good reviews. I can't imagine canceling a resv because of one bad review. I've had several great meals there within the last few months.

We have an ADR at Spoodles next week. We have eaten there many times and have never had a bad meal. Sorry you had a bad experience. I would just like to know what was wrong with your DD's meal because I planned on ordering that. I know they have a new menu and the kabobs replaced the steak dish. Just wondering if she just didn't like the taste, or if the meat was bad, fatty?

For those reading this please don't cancel your ADR because of one bad review.

You can't possibly cancel your reservation because ONE person didn't like their food. Since we all have different tastes, it's just as likely that the person seated next to them LOVED their dish and would recommend it.

If you cancel your plans for every bad review out there, I'm afraid you will be starving on your vacation.

OP, I have had a great exp at Spoodles, I'm so sorry that your food was not good =( What a disappointment for you! I've had bad experiences at places that people seem to love as well.

We have never had a bad meal at Spoodles. Sorry to hear you did.

We ate there last September for the first time and absolutely loved it. It became a quick favorite for all of us. I had the Portuguese Stew which was wonderful. The flatbreads are outstanding. That place will be a must-do for us every time we go.

I also LOVE Spoodles!!! Sorry you didn't enjoy your meal.

As some of the others posted I wouldn't cancel an ADR just becasue a few people didn't like the meal. I always find it funny when someone says they are not going to try a place just because someone else doesn't like the place. There are plenty of places that everyone raves about on these boards, but I don't care for but I still try them just because I want to judge for myself.

DDC123 - what didn't you like about it? Are you looking for a less adventurous menu, perhaps more "meat and potato" kind of fare?

Just curious - and really can't understand why others would cancel because of one post that wasn't good.

Everyone's tastes are different.

I made ADRs there, but after looking at the menu, I wasn't impressed. I changed to Concourse Steakhouse. I now feel like I made the right decision.

OP: How was the garlic lemon sauce terrible, and what was terrible about your DD's steak? Were they not what you were expecting? Was the taste "off"? Was the steak prepared poorly, or wrong/not as requested? Did you let the restaurant know there were problems? Not being argumentative, just curious.

We went for breakfast in Feb and hated it. My frittata was burned and hard, the bacon and sausage were grisly and greasy, the potatoes were hard, the biscuit and croissant were very greasy. Very disappointing.

On topic:
OP: I'm wondering the same thing as most. What exactly was wrong with your meal? Taste, prep, etc..??

Slightly off topic:
PP's: Also, I have to agree with some of the other posters. One bad review is probably not a great basis for deciding to change an ADR. I am in the minority on these boards in that I was totally unimpressed with Le Cellier, and my comments reflected that in past posts. But alot of people love the place, so in the end, it does come down to a matter of preference, expectations, or maybe I simply caught them on a bad kitchen day.
Now, if I saw a trend of bad reviews on a place, any place, that could/would get my attention enough to reconsider my plans to eat somewhere. Just as an example - Fulton's never makes it to the top of our list for a trip, because the trend is it doesn't get very good reviews here, or anywhere I have seen.
One review, either way, isn't enough to make us change an ADR. I may watch for more info on it, but I can't say it would make us switch.

I have always had consistently good meals there........but sometimes things happen. Who knows why, maybe a new chef as the regular one got sick.....or they are training someone.... I had a terrible meal at Yachtman's steak house, terrible and also a very bad experience at Flying Fish and yet people love these restaurants....I will not recommend either restaurant as a result of our experiences.

I would keep my ADR and decide for myself whether it was a good restaurant or not.

to the OP, sorry the meal wasn't to your liking...did you mention it to the server?

i'm sure they would have been happy to make a substitution....although we complained about inedible food to Mama Melrose waitstaff and were told "...it's all like that..."

We've had both breakfast and dinner at Spoodles and loved them both.

OP - Please elaborate on what was so bad.

Hopefully others won't cancel their ADR's based on one bad review!!!!!!
