Can anyone tell me about the Spoodles Pizza Window?

We're planning on staying at the BC this fall and would like to know how the "late night snacking" is around the area. popcorn:: Thought this pizza would be worth checking out... anyone have advice or pics?

Thanks! :goodvibes

We did not care for the pizza at Spoodles take out window at all.

For snacking I recommend checking out the Boardwalk Bakery and there is a food cart with great meatball subs.

Personally, we have never returned to Spoodles for pizza. But their sitdown restaurant is wonderful.

I'd say the pizza was middle-of-the-road, but good enough.

What we liked was the convenience. It was a nice change of pace, staying with our 8-year old at a boardwalk resort. We had a simple, quick meal, ate it there and Mom & Dad even enjoyed a plastic glass of wine.

It was also fun to people watch on the boardwalk.

The Boardwalk bakery has great items too!

It is pretty good pizza, DH always stops for a slice

I thought the pizza at the Spoodles window was the worst pizza I've ever had. It reminded me of really bad frozen pizza.

I agree - for disney pizza, this wasn't too bad. The Bakery is better, since they have sandwiches as well as goodies. There's a kiosk that sells chicken fingers and fries, and that was gross!!!!!

I think Picabu at the Dolphin is open 24hrs, and has cold cases for sandwiches and snacks. That's right next to BC.

Not the best pizza I have ever had, but I live in NY and compare everything to that. That said it is fine for a late night snack and we LOVE the sangria that they sell at the window.

As some of the other posters have said there is a stand that sells hot dogs, fries, onion rings etc. and they are open pretty late. You can also go into ESPN for a snack. If you sit in the bar area I don't think the wait is as long.

We eat pizza all the time and the take out stuff is not that bad. The slices are pretty darn big and you can get a whole pie if you want. They do have buzzers to let you know when your order is ready (they used to just yell out your name). The hot dog place is right across the boardwalk from the pizza place so it's nice to please just about anyone between the two.

Be warned that the line in the evening can get long and it's not the fastest moving thing in the world considering their limited menu.

It's good choice for late night snacking.

Thanks for the responses! Anyone else have anything to add?

It sounds like it might be a good option, as does the little cart across the way. We'll be at the BC and there doesn't seem to be much there besides Hurricane Hannah's.

The Spoodles Pizza window guy, Dave was my hero! We were late getting back before ME was to come and pick us up. I ran down to the boardwalk to find some quick food. I asked Dave how long for a pizza and he told me it would take 10 minutes or so, but that he had a pepperoni pizza in the oven that I could have in 2. My hero! We ate on the bus and left the extra with the driver. Everyone say "Hi" to Dave for me when you go there.

The BW pizza is pretty good, for Disney pizza. I would say it's better than frozen, but not as good as the take out most of us are used to at home. When I was staying at BWV last month, I ordered a whole pie, and then just used the leftovers for subsequent meals. It was much better than getting frozen pizzas at the gift shop and baking them in the oven.

I didn't like it at all. I do, however, enjoy the room service pizza, so YMMV. I much prefer the corn dogs and criss-cross fries from the carnival cart.

I'm starting to think that WDW doesnt know how to make pizza...

You would be correct. ;) All of the WDW pizza I've tried suffers from too much of everything--too much sauce, too much cheese and too much dough. Good pizza is about balance, restraint and harmony. :)

Of course, it all depends on what you're used to as well. If you're used to deep dish pizzas, or thin pizzas, you're out of luck. I think they've tried to take the middle of the road. Still, if you're looking at on property pizza, BW is not bad. I've had a lot worse. But it will never compete with off property pizza.

BTW, you can get pizza delivered to the resorts from off property restaurants. You may have to meet them in the lobby, especially at the deluxe resorts where they can't go to the rooms, but it can be done.
