Spontaneous Dinner Package Cancellation?

Received a call from an Anaheim number while in a meeting at work. I listened to the voice mail as soon as I could and was told that my River Belle Terrance Deluxe Dinning Package for 11/1 was cancelled. Caller stated in a very confusing run-on sentence that I interpreted to mean that Fantasmic was not happening that night. She then left an incorrect call back number for Disney Dinning, so sorry whatever Anahiem dude I just called.

I have now been on Hold for 25 minutes and counting trying to figure out if the above is really the case. The dinner package is still bookable on the website for November 1st and my reservation is still showing up online and in the App and I did not get a cancellation email.

Okay, they finally picked up, right at 29 minutes and 45 seconds and told me that yes Fantasmic is cancelled on 11/1 and there is no availability on the only other date it's running 11/2. I also found out my reservation would not have been cancelled and I would have been charged the no show fee, if we had not shown up. I live in Texas, I can get good Bar-B-Que all over the place. I wasn't eatting there for the meal.

So now no special dinner for my 50th birthday, none of the other special dinning events (Halloween Tea, Halloween Dinner, Fantasmic) have availablity. Oh, bother.

Time for a walk in to the Napa Rose lounge?

What a bummer (and a mess of an explanation)! Keep checking for open spots as people cancel. I snagged one of those a few years ago. I'll cross my fingers for you.

Really was looking for dinner and a show.
And not a character meal, I'm little old for that. :D

Definitely keep refreshing in the app to see if reservations become available, often they do when people cancel them closer in to the date. Good luck!

Thanks! But you do have to call in to get the 'Premium Seating', I'm not planning on hanging out on hold with Disney that much.

I think the dinning package people are just as frustrated as we are with the way things have been released lately.

Keep checking!

There is some availability on 11/2 for the other dinning packages- not the premium seating.

So sorry for all this frustration. Have you looked at the PTN dining package at CCR? If there are openings, that would be a very nice dining package splurge for a birthday -- front row, actual seats for PTN. And try contacting Guest Services about this (go to the DLR website -- the contact us link at the bottom has options for phone and email). Explain clearly what happened and how it has (negatively) affected your trip. Ask if there is anything they can do to help with this. It can't hurt to see if they can clear things up for you. They should at least know about how unprofessionally this is being handled.
