Just an update, was there last Sunday and Spongebob was doing a meet and greet in the store

This would be a little bit sneaky, but if you went to the park and didn't end up finding him, you could check out the lobby of the Nick Hotel. I understand he is there all day to great guests as they come in. I know that you have to be staying onsite to really enter the main hotel, but that can't be true of the lobby because guest just coming in won't have a bracelet yet. Just a thought.

Like others have said, Jimmy will be open in high season, I read a while back that it is closing around mid-August, so you should be fine!

Perhaps e-mail Universal with your concerns! I know that TMs at customer services are usually very helpful with planning.

Thank you! I wish they would offer a "character meal" w/out having to stay there but I understand it's a perk for the guests. We actually did think about just checking it out and seeing if we got a "nice feel" for it so I'll keep this in mind if we don't strike gold!

I promised I would update you guys on how it went so here I am

We went to Universal on Friday, June 10th and it worked perfectly! We got there at opening and I had already read that Spongebob was doing meet and greets starting at 10am so we had an hour to do other things. The Jimmy Neutron ride was *not* running that day so I was still a little nervous, but the meet and greet was still held.

My DS had a blast in the store and got to do his "build a Spongebob" and explore the area. We came back right at 10am and he was the ONLY person in there meeting him so it was magical! We got some great pictures and left very pleased!

On a side note, has the Jimmy Neutron ride operated since spring break?

I've been there 2x the last couple of months and its been closed. We'll be to there one more time next month to see the light & laser show so hopefully we will catch it then.

And if not I'll guess we'll be one of the first to report on Despicable Me!

It seems the attraction is closed more than it's open despite Universal saying it would be open through mid-August. So...it's anyone's guess if it will be open at any certain time.
