My son will be 4 in a month and a half and I need ideas for his birthday party. It's going to be SpongeBob...

So here's what I have:
Decorations:
Cotton Fish Net with plastic crabs, shells & seahorses
Pineapple table decorations
Paper Pop out fish that I can hang...
I'm buying the papergoods form birthday express with the spongebob theme.

Food:
Crabby Patties (hamburgers)

It's mostly going to be family and close friends but I was thinking of doing goody bags anyways...

any other great ideas?? helpppp... :)

How bout having some balloons that look like jellyfish?? If you have an enclosed room (with no ceiling fan) maybe the kids could go jellyfishing to see how many they can get in a their net.

Let me know if you need any Spongebob clipart to make or print anything.

When I had a spongebob party we played pin the tie on spongebob.
I made spongebob out of a big sheet of yellow posterboard and painted his features and clothes (minus the tie). It was very easy to do and trust me I CAN'T DRAW!!!!
Then out of red poster board I cut ties. Play just like pin the tail on the donkey. It was alot of fun!
I also got a spongebob pinata.

I have a girlfriend who is SO talented. She made her DS a cake last year that was 'The Pineapple Under the Sea' It was so cute. She is on vacation this week, but I will email her and ask her to send me the pictures again, and I can eithe post or email them to you. It was really easy to do also (she carved the shape out of 2 loaf pound cakes fused together with icing).

Cool you guys thank you!!!! I love the idea of jellyfishing...

you guys are the best :)

How about blue jello with gummy fish "swimming" in it.

You could do a "sponge bob toss" get wet sponges and then take a large piece of cardboard and make one of the scenes, something simple...then cut holes that are marked with points. Allow the kids to toss wet sponges through the holes

just off the top of my head....

I did made up a game for the kiddies. It was a hoot!

First, I purchased enough yellow sponges for each player. Since they come damp, be sure to buy them in advance so that you can let them air-dry.

Then I used sticky labels and photocopied SB's eyes, mouth, pants, arms, etc....

For the game, we gave each child a sticker set and the sponge. We let them look it all over and then we blind-folded them to assemble SB. We had some real Picassos in the group!

Note: to make the stickers come off easy, I put them on waxed paper. It was easier for the kiddies to pick the set of stickers off of waxed paper then the regular sticker sheet.

Afterward, you can send the sponges home, keep them to use, or donate them to a local charity........ minus the stickers, of course!

Hope you like it.

Disclaimer--I did not make this, a friend of mine makes these masterpiece cakes for her boys.

OH MY GOSH!!!!!!!!!!! That is the cutest thing I have ever seen!!!

She did an amazing job on that... I dont know if I'm that talented... but at least I have a good start!!!

Thank you everyone for your great ideas! :)

Preshi--the Pineapple cake is SOOOO easy.

Carve the oval shape of the pineapple out of 2 pound cakes 'glued' together with frosting. Then freeze it, so it is easier to frost.

She used licorice whip for the lines on the Pineapple.

The greens are very thin sugar cookie batter, basically smeared onto the cookie sheet, and cooked until just browned.

I never thought I could do stuff like this either until my friend talked me through a few 'escapades'. Here is the cake I made this year for DS, totally solo, with no moral support from my super talented friend!
