Spoiler Alert....Details for the Fall 2010 Race

I'm definitely in for this one if I can make it. I wish they'd stop holding races on the first weekend of the month. That's the same time I have Air Force reserve weekends. I always have a conflict with the marathon weekend because its the first weekend after the new year.

It was pretty hot at the Race for the Taste last weekend but its supposed to get much cooler over the next couple weeks.

I can't wait for the announcement. I can tell you it was really hot at the World the last week and doing 13.1 miles in that heat would have been difficult, but doable.

I think slowing down would be in order. I'm in for a half and if you add food and wine forget about it. Should be cool.

I agree, a half last week would have been difficult. It felt like it was about 90 degrees at the finish line at 8 am. Don't know if you all have heard, but I posted some info that I got from the Jim Hill blog yesterday in another post. But it said that disney recently registered the domain names:

DISNEYWINEANDDINERUN
DISNEYWINEANDDINEHALF

It does seem like it will be a half marathon, I feel like it would be cooler with a 6 am start time rather than a 7pm start time, but I've never done a night half marathon. I think it would be an interesting experience.

I was hoping they'd announce a halloween themed run like the TOT run, but it doesn't seem like they will. Fingers crossed though.

Looks like a half marathon, half marathon relay, and 5K on October 1 & 2.

I may be in for this one but it depends on how the next couple of months go. If work reinstates the pay cuts or I end up getting an evening gig to cover the difference I will be on the lookout for a cheap flight and do the 5K and half.

I'm in for this one and possibly the 5k if it's run on Friday. WISH they had done it this year since I was already down there, but man this sounds cool.

this sounds soooo exciting!count us in.
dh islooking forward to it too.
now if the course and price would come out.oh and count me in on the 5k too!

I'm in! I just set a reminder on my phone to book the remained of my BLT point at the end of the month!

My B-day is the 13th of Nov, so with the sign ups on the 16th!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!!!!!!!! :cool1:

That looks great! We are going to WDW in January for the half, so we probably won't do a family trip. But I am thinking an October half marathon may be a great girls trip for my running club!

May have been mentioned but the 5k is the same day of the half in the morning at the magic kingdom

I'm in for this race we were hoping it would be when we get off the ship and it is. We're bringing back the Magic from Europe and get off the ship on Oct 2nd. Can you think of a better ending to our trip. I'm setting a reminder to get beach club or boardwalk for that weekend.

Soooo exciting....I am definitely going to do this race....I am looking forward to seeing the course. The after party is definitely in the parks....very exciting!

I will most likely be in for this one as it is an "Inaugural" race. And its only a 3 1/2 hour drive North.

Where did is this mentioned? If it is true, than could be a new double race day. 5K in am and 1/2 at night. Interesting option :thumbsup2
This is from Disney's official press release on the inaugural Wine and Dine Half Marathon. Yes, it looks like the 5K will be in the morning and the half marathon in the evening on the same day - Oct. 2, 2010

Events are planned for the entire weekend, starting with a Health and Fitness Expo hosted at Jostens Center at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex Oct. 1-2. All members of the family can join in on some hauntingly good fun with Disney Kids’ Races and Mickey’s Halloween Family Fun Run 5k. Kids’ Races will take place at the complex while the Family Fun Run 5k takes participants through Magic Kingdom. Both races are during the morning on Oct.2, with staggered starting times to invite participation in all events. The weekend culminates with the half marathon on the evening of Oct.2.

Not too impressed with this race, I was holding off getting my AP's as I wasn't sure if we would do a fall race at WDW or Coast to Coast. At least this makes it a little easier. I was hoping for something closer to Halloween and Halloween related.

I forgot to post this here, but it also looks like the half will start from WWOS.

The weekend will also include a two-day expo, a 5K family fun run, kids races and a lot of special Disney touches. The half-marathon will start at the soon-to-be-renamed ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and finish inside Epcot with an exclusive post-race party at the annual Epcot International Food & Wine Festival that features culinary delights from around the world prepared by top Disney chefs.
