We're making the trip to DLR this October splurging out at the DPP Concierge for 4 nights.
I am a WDW AP holder and know that about resort discounts at WDW.
I am also a DC member.

Q: Does a DLR AP offer the same type of discounts as the WDW AP (upto 40%)?
Q: What about DC?
Q: Mousesavers is like a second home page to me so I am monitoring it for rates, but does anyone know I can get good Grand Californian rates from besides DC or AAA?

I'd be glad to switch from DPP Concierge to the Grand Californian, if the price is right!
It would really make the trip (arriving from WDW after 4 nights at WL and 4 nights at AKL)

Thanks for the assist!
Rob

We are going to DLH Concerige in September and were able to get the AP Super Sunday rate. Give them a call and see if it is available for October.

I would check the disney.com website and disney club's web site for more specific info about benefits of each the AP and DC.
As a DC member, you will save $$ on your passes/AP's. Once you get an AP--the discounts are much better than the DC discounts.

Have fun!
Sue:)

P.S. You might want to go back on this board and look over some of the older posts--there are a lot of great info/tips!:)

We also are AP holders and DC members. The AP by far has the better discounts. We got a rate of $199/night at the GC for a theme park view. The DLH and PP were even cheaper with the Super Sunday Saver rates. We also are AP holders at WDW. Since it is a bigger park with more hotels there are more discounts but I think proportionally it is about the same.

... the 4 day PH+ passes at $141 and Deluxe AP @ $149.

It makes sense for me to buy an AP for my 5-day stay and get the discounts and bonuses of the AP holders.

Thanks for the assist.

Just to let everyone know ...

We dropped our 4 night Concierge DPP booking (quoted through DC as $1480.00) and switched to GC for same dates, DD view. Paid for 3 nights got 1 free. Paid for 3-day UHP got 2 days free. Plus the regluar resort magic items and a commemorative souvenir to boot for $1050 incl tax and resort fees so Im happy.

At $525pp for 4 nights at the GC inc 5-day UHPs and extras sounds like a very good price but I would welcome your comments!

Since we will be at WL and AKL prior, you could say we were staying in-theme resortwise!

Thanks to everyone for their help.

Did you book this thru Walt Disney Travel? Was this a special package for fall? Do you mind telling me how many people are in your family (kids/adults)?
Sounds like you got a great deal! Good job!;)

Have fun!
Sue:)

Rang DC this morning ...

Asked for the 'Fall Getaway' package for my brother and I which is essentially the Resort Magic package with 1 night free accomodation and 2 days extra free on the UHPs.

We're staying 4 nights at the start of October so it kinda made sense over buying APs etc. There is a minimum stay requirement of 3 nights but other that heres the details:

Fall Getaway Packages valid 8/25/02 - 1/3/03
Includes:
- A 5-Day Disneyland Resort Park Hopper Ticket for the price of a 3-Day
- A fourth night FREE at participating Disneyland Resort Hotels and Disneyland Resort Good Neighbor Hotels (not all Good Neighbor hotels are included)
- Many other extras, including an ESPN Zone Arena Game Card and collectible pin and lanyard
- Valid for arrivals 8/25/02 - 1/3/03
- Plus, guests arriving 11/11/02 - 12/31/02 will receive a special Disney holiday ornament with their Getaway package

Hope this help!

Ive been reviewing our deal since I got some feedback and will be paying an extra $50 to upgrade 1 of our 5-day PHPs to Premium AP and an extra $20 to upgrade our magic feature to a character breakfast buffet at the Storyteller cafe in GC!

So for the Grand sum of $1120.90 incl tax and resort fees, we are getting ...

- A Room for 2 (Brother and I) for 4 nights (Oct 1-5) at the GC DD view (Pay for 3, get 1 free!)
- 2 x 5-day Park Hopper (Pay for 3-day, get 5-day upgrade free!) then upgraade 1 to get ...
- 1 x DLR Premium AP (no blockout dates and the fullest range of discounts on property)
- 2 x Character breakfast buffets at the Storytellers cafe (Upgrade from Tour option)
- Full access to Hotel facilities including free self-parking and gym access.
- Plus all the other Resort Magic items eg Pins, Lanyards, fastpass, ESPN card etc.

Add $388.00 for the items below ...

- Intermediate rental thru National via Emerald Aisle out of LAX using DC discounts ($194 inc Tax, Full LDW, Airport surcharge etc)
- 2 x Knotts Berry Farm tickets ($45 ea. but still looking for discount here)
- 2 x Six Flags Magic Mountain tickets ($52 ea. inc Parking but still looking for discount here)

Brings the LA component of our trip to $1508.90 all-up!
(BTW this is just a little more expensive than the quote I got for 4 nights Concierge at DPP thru DC $1479.90)

This is the combination of the Fall getaway package booked thru DC plus $70 for upgrades. Plus prices based website quotes. I think I have done well and sure beats planning for WDW!

So my question for everyone is .... Know anyone with a money printing machine I can borrow? :D
