Splitting Your Reservation?

My question is...Is it possible or will they let you take your existing 8 day vacation and split it into 2 or 3 different reservations? I know many of you end up with multiple reservations to get what you want, but have you ever wanted to break it up? This trip for us is going to be more about time camping at the Fort and maybe 4 days in the parks, but we want to have the meal plan too. I just don't think I can swing the meal plan for the whole 8 days again. I was hoping for just 4 days. With our reservation the way it is it is all 8 nights together and you have to purchase the package for your length of stay. The CM I spoke with a couple of days ago had no idea what I was talking about. The plan for now is work like crazy when school starts and just do the whole trip, if I can't get the cash flow together, we don't and we plan on all meals in cash and mostly in the camp site. Either way I'll be happy, but I would be happier if I didn't have to cook and clean while on vacation.

Yes - you can split your reservation. Here's how it would work:

You would cancel some of your nights, and re-book them as a package with Dining. The only problem is -- you may not get those nights again, once you cancel the old ones. So, you should try to book the package first, then if you get it, go ahead and cancel some days off your old reservation. But, do it right away, so that you're not holding 2 reservations.

The new dining package reservation will require a $200 deposit, with the balance due 45 days prior to travel.

You already have a deposit on your old reservation, and your balance on that one is due when you check in.

If you split into three separate reservations, you will owe an additional one-night deposit on the third reservation -- with balance due at check-in.

Keep in mind, that FW can make you check out and check back in again for each reservation. And, there is a possibility you MAY have to switch campsites when this happens. Probably not, but it could happen.

Thanks Rhonda. I thought there could be a way, I guess it is a chance you take. I really hope to just make the whole trip a package and be done with it. I should be able to and if I want it bad enough I can make it happen. BUT...just incase I'm happy to know that I can switch it around a little.
