Splitting with Meal credits?

Do you know can you split meals using dining credits?

For example at Yachtsman 2 people share the 28oz steak and only use 2 meal credits?

Or 2 people Share 1 meal credit at Kona?

I would pay for my drink but on the DXDP you get App Meal and Dessert so sharing makes sense to me for some meals

Not everywhere.

You can't split credits at buffets, all you can eat family style restaurants, fixed price restaurants like CRT and Akershus, dinner shows, or Via Napoli.

As long as both persons are on the dining plan, I don't know of anywhere else that generally doesn't allow it. Except with items that are meant to serve 2 persons, like the platters at La Hacienda.

How many meals will you be sharing and what will you do with the extra credits? The DxDDP is a lot of food at each meal so sharing seems to make sense, but then you have all the extra credits for even more food. When we've had the DxDDP it was hard enough to use all the credits, let alone try and find time (and stomach space) for still more meals. We found it best for us to do just 2 meals a day - breakfast or lunch and a 2 credit dinner and that was sometimes still too much food for us. We often ended up taking dessert with us to eat for breakfast the next morning.
