Has anyone split their onsite hotel stay at WDW. I really wanted to stay at AKL but the cost plus flights from Calgary was too high so we are staying at POR. I was thinking though it would be neat to stay there for 2-3 nights just so I was able to stay there. However I think the hassle of changing hotel rooms may waste an entire Disney day. I would appreciate any info on someone else who has done this.

We have done this quite a bit. Disney will move all your luggage to your next resort while you are at the parks.

I'll let you know when I get back..... mil wanted to stay at one place, dh another and I had to consider points to make sure we could fit 2 full weeks in a 2 bedroom so we are staying at OKW for 5 nights, BWV for 4 nights and SSR for 4.. .or maybe it's 5 nights.
My plan is to check out and let Disney deal with the luggage then later in the day we'll go check in at the next resort. It's not my grand idea of a relaxing vacation but I'll do it to keep everyone happy!! :lmao:
Don't think I would want to do it though if I was only having a short vacation.

We always stay at more than one resort. It is quite simple ,they move your luggage while you do something else. Last Mar. we stayed at 3 places,WLV,AKL and the BWV.

We do this regularly :thumbsup2

And like everyone else said, it's easy:)

We now split our stays between onsite and off :teeth:

:sunny:

We do this every trip we are DVC members and to maximize points we transfer to a different resort for the weekends paying cash. Disney makes it so esy to switch resorts during your stay all you do is pack up your stuff drop it off at bell services and they will transfer it to your new resort and even put the bags in the room for you when it is ready. All you do is go to the new resort in the AM to check in and then head to the parks for the day.

We usually split our stay between WDW and our off site timeshare. It is a bit of a hassle moving but it really only consumes one morning. I wouldn't hesitate to switch between WDW hotels. With their service an willingness to transfer you bags between hotels (don't forget to tip the bellboys) it is quite easy.

I am looking into it right now with my TA...hopefully :thumbsup2 it works out!
