Splitting Entrees? Frowned upon?

The reason that we're not doing the DDP is that we plan on sharing entrees on this trip. There are four of us - we'll probably order a couple apps, a couple entrees and a couple desserts. Even at counter service - there are a lot of places that we'll share entrees. That way - we'll have room for a few snacks!

By the way, my husband and I split meals most of the time we go to restaurants anywhere.

Whenever I travel w/ my mom we split! Not only is it a waste of money but it's a waste of food. When I'm with my DH -- no such luck -- he can eat whatever he wants, as much as he wants (which is alot) and never gains an ounce -- go figure

It's be a while since I asked this so I'm posing the question again. Do any of you routinely split entrees at Disney restaurants? If so, do they frown upon it (i.e. server seems irritated)? Also, is there a split plate charge? The reason I ask is my mom and I are taking a Mother's Day trip and neither one of us eats a lot. Seems silly for us each to order entrees when we'd be happier getting an appetizer and splitting an entree/dessert. I appreciate your opinion! Thanks!

We split all the time, it has nothing to do about the price, its just that we do not eat that much.

The only place we never split meals is Shula's.... Steak is too good to share

We went as a group of 5 and split everything. We even did it at counter service restaurants too. We never got any looks or anything from any of the servers or cast members but some wierd ones from other people eating around us. Why...I dunno. We seem to eat much more if we eat later at night...one night instead of splitting at Sci-Fi we all orderd a meal ourselves and it was all gone. I'm the one who orders from the kid's menu at table service restaurants (I'm twenty but look like I'm 13) and never get a look.

Hey, I see you are from Allentown....I'm from Nazareth, PA....going in June 2009...Glad to see a "close neighbor"! We plan on doing a "little" sharing...or will at least attempt to share.

Yes I go to school in Allentown but I am planning on staying here afterward. I wish I was going again that soon. That's about the time we would go too. Have fun and share a little for me!
