We are planning on spending Dec 16-19 at WDW and Dec 20-21 at US. We've never been to US before and have never split a hotel stay while at WDW. I definitely want to stay on WDW property for that portion of our trip. Is it better to stay put on WDW property or check out and move to a hotel for 2 nights that's closer to US? We have AP's, so we wouldn't be incurring costs for park tickets for those extra days and we will have our car, so transportation isn't an issue. If we change hotels, is it worth it to spend the extra $$ to stay at one of the US hotels? We will want to spend a considerable amount of time at WWoHP, as well as take in the holiday sights.

Yes, if you can afford it, make the move to a US hotel. The front of the line benefit is SO worth it. I need two rooms for my family, and I spend the big bucks to stay a night on-site. The hotels at US are gorgeous, too. It is a nice feeling to stay there, ride the boats to the parks (or walk) and be so close for a mid-day break. Royal Pacific is the lowest priced, check out what you can get for your dates. You won't regret it! :thumbsup2

I agree with Lucky's Mom especially since you're going the week leading up to Christmas.

Thanks for the advice! I think we could swing the cost of the US hotel, just didn't know if was worth the cost or the trouble to pack up and switch hotels. I'll check them out. :thumbsup2

Heck yeah its worth the hassle for the FOTL access alone!

We LOVED LOVED LOVED the Hard Rock Hotel! Probably one of our favorite hotel stays ever. Would love to go back there.

Definitely worth splitting your stay! :thumbsup2 We stayed at HRH first, then moved over to WDW. I might consider starting at WDW and going to Universal at the end of the trip. It was hard to go from FOTL passes at US/IOA to the fastpass system at WDW - we got really spoiled at US/IOA!

Have fun!
