splitting charges for people in the same cabin

I feel like I have come across a similar thread, but cannot find it. We are three women staying in the same cabin. As I am the main contact for the reservation, I am assuming my credit card will be the one that will be charged at the end of the cruise. Is there a way that my friends can use their cards; meaning can we go to guest services and they use their credit card to credit my account or something like that...not sure if i am saying it right. or should we just wait till i get an itemized bill? I am just looking for the easiest way to keep track of charges. We are staying concierge which is our "guest services", right? anyone deal with similar situation?

Each KTTW card (your room/charge card) can be set up with it's own backup. Each of you can apply your own credit card to your own KTTW card.

When the bill/statement at the end of the cruise is prepared, each KTTW will be listed separately, with whatever charges that person made to her own card.

You can set that up when you check in at the port. Or at Guest Services once onboard. It's also possible to set it up that way during your online check in, but I'm not sure how to do it.

Each person can put their own credit card for their ship card. My brothers did this when they shared a room on our last cruise, you set it up when you do online check-in. Now as how they charge room service drinks or split OBC that I am not sure.

If you are paying for anything on room service, someone must sign for it. That signature should put the charge on the correct KTTW card.

Generally, room OBC is applied to the lead name on the account. There have been rare reports that some OBC can be split, but only if it comes from different sources. As in, if the whole room gets a $200 OBC from a TA for booking with them, it will go to the lead name. But if there's, say, $100 OBC from a TA, and $75 OBC for using a specific credit card, and $25 OBC from some other source, each OBC can be applied to a different KTTW account but not split evenly.

I did all this on-line when I checked in for the both of us and we each used our own credit cards. I also made sure to inform my TA.

When you check-in online you can each attach a credit card to your own name. It can also be done when checking in at port and once onboard.

The OBCs...when I recently sailed with 4 ladies in a suite I told the concierge (Danny) we wanted to split the $300 OBC that was attached to me evenly between us. They took care of purchasing 3 $75 gift cards then applying each to the other ladies' folios. It was very nice to have it all done for us.

Thanks! I knew there would be disers with the answers! I will check back at the online check-in. I am still compiling info, so i will get their credit cards numbers. so if i do that, it will mean whenever they swipe their KTTW card for something, the purchase gets charged to their credit card right? so there really shouldn't be any issues then. I have already taken care of gratuities. That makes sense and so much easier than trying to figure it out after...

You make it sounds like when they get the signed receipt back at the Room Service office, they compare the signature you made with all of those on file for those registered to the room, and apply the charges to the matching account. I suppose it's possible that this is how it works, but I highly doubt it.

Also, I have had confusion in the past with charges that were not guest-specific being applied to someone other than the lead passenger. Use of the stateroom telephone was charged to the second guest in the room for some reason.

The way I've handled discrepancies is to just keep track of them manually and then settle up in cash between passengers, rather than try to get things moved between accounts at Guest Services. I suppose it's possible that this is how it works, but I highly doubt it.

Room service I'm not sure about. I've never bought anything upcharge from room service and I tip the person who brings it in cash. I'm thinking you can tell them your specific name and room number explaining why the charge must be to your name. On dry cleaning/pressing I've done my name with room number & the charges applied correctly.

Excursions are easy. They charge to the person booked on the excursion.

I agree on keeping track with statements then settling up later. I've not had to do that but I certainly would. We usually do our final check before bed the last night. It's usually late and not too busy.

I won't get too caught up on it...it may be just as easy to have the one account and just have them pay me when we figure it out...we'll see.

Super easy to do at online check-in. You can even set it up to have one person pay for two of you, the other for herself. All combinations of possibilities are doable online.

As i am paying for the cruise as a treat to my friends, splitting the OBC is not even an issue!
