Splitting Bill at Table Service Restaurants

We will be a party of 9 during most of our table service restaurants. All of my adult trips before now have just been me and my family of 4. Will Disney have an issue if we ask to split our bill into say 3 different ones? Of course, we would request this at the start of ordering.

Can't answer about a three-way split. But a couple of years ago, we dined with another couple several times at sit-down restaurants. When we asked for separate tickets, there was no hesitation at all.

Just to be safe, I suspect you could call the restaurant direct and ask what is their policy.

In my experience they will usually ask at the start of the meal, but if they don’t, that’s when you should ask. They even asked us when it was just three adults. It’s not a problem.

For parties of 6 or more, I think there’s an automatic gratuity added.

Tell the wait staff before you order never been an issue even when we did not have the groups sitting together. The tip has always been added for us we always look to make sure.

Won't be a problem. I've had to split bills as many as 4 ways on numerous occasion and they always accommodate. In December I go with a large photography group meet with 20-30 of us, and we often have to get multiple tables of 10-12, with 4 or 5 parties at each table splitting off their own bill.

Be kind enough to let the wait staff know as you are seated rather than at the end - better to help them keep track of the order for each, especially if doing appetizers, bar drinks, etc.

Not a problem. We usually tell them when we order, just like we do at any restaurant - Disney or not.

Never had a problem splitting a check with friends. The only thing they may tell us that they cannot apply a discount on the on both checks unless both parties qualify for the discount. For example, my friends and I both have DVC and APs, so when the check is split, we both qualify for the discounts. If my friends did not have DVC or AP, they would not get a discount even though I would.

We have split the bill 3 & 4 ways no problem. We always tell them prior to ordering.

When we last traveled to Disney there were 3 different families in our group. At the start of every meal we let the server know that so he/she could appropriately group the bill. It was never an issue for us and think this happens quite often. I do think it is helpful to let the server know when placing the order rather than waiting until the end of the meal when they are about to bring your bill. Everyone might have a different idea how much to tip, so every party having their own check makes this a lot easier. We also do that at home whenever we eat out with others.

That's actually how we do it. We don't have the dining plan, so we each take a turn and pay for a dinner and we all Zelle or Venmo each other at the table.

Disney wants your money, anyway you want to give it to them. Go ahead and split it 9 ways.

Everyone might have a different idea how much to tip, so every party having their own check makes this a lot easier.

The automatic gratuity charged for groups of 6 or more is charged even if you split the check. It makes it easier if one party wants to tip MORE then 18%

They will split the bill but auto gratuity wi be added to each bill. Spitting bill will not change party size
