Is this possible? I'm thinking it is but I just need someone to explain it to me like I'm 3 years old, :lmao:

Okay here is the situation:

We are getting married at Disney on Feb 13, 2010. We are driving from Dallas. I had orginally booked a week long stay at BLT and just recieved the reservation confirmation today. Well over the past few weeks I've decided that 1) we need more then a 1 bedroom and 2) Our wedding is at the WP and we want to be close to that locale.

My question is can I call Disney and explain the situation and tell them I still want part of my week reservation at Bay Lake but I want the first 4 days or so at Grand Floridian (where the reception will be held).

My fiance and I's thinking on this was if we stayed at Grand Floridian those first few days then we wouldn't have the cost and headache of trying to get transportation from Bay Lake to where the wedding/reception will be held.

Can someone explain to me if this is possible or if I am totally off of my rocker..

Thanks,
Kristina

Are you a DVC owner and thus booked the BLT stay on points? Or are you renting that reservation from someone? Or have you exchanged into BLT via RCI? Or did you just book the BLT stay through Disney CRO? Or are the Disney wedding planners making your arrangements? A Travel Agent?

The answer depends on how you booked the BLT stay. It is a simple matter to drop a few nights from the beginning of the BLT reservation if you are a DVC owner who booked through Member services. Then you could just call CRO and book the nights you need at the GF.

But if you are not an owner, then the complications set in. But I'm sure there is a way to work it all out.

We might be able to offer more help with a bit more info.

Congratulations on your upcoming marriage - how lucky you are to have a Disney wedding!

Both BLT and the Grand Floridian are on the Monorail, so there shouldn't be much headache/cost for transportation - just take the monorail! :thumbsup2

If you're using DVC points, you can use them at the GF, but it's substantially more points than any of the DVC resorts. Also, if you need to cancel a non-DVC reservation, the points end up in Reservation status and you can't use them at DVC resorts, and they expire at the end of the use year.

Hope this helps.

Sorry should of clarified :)

Yes I am a DVC owner. I used points to reserve the week at BLT. I reserved it through DVC's website.

Thank you all for the help and suggestion. This will be my 2nd trip on my DVC points. We are staying in July at Saratoga Springs on our DVC points for 5 days.
