How hard would it be to split a stay with a 2.5 and a 4.5 year old? Right now we have 5 nights at BWV. I really would like a longer stay but I can't afford to rent weekend points at the BWV. I just read about the All Star suites and I was thinking about adding on 2-3 at the beginning of our trip in one of those. How hard would it be to do this? What is involved? Do you think the kids would be freaked out about moving to another resort?

I don't think there would be any trouble. A bit of a pain, but nothing more than that. If it means adding Disney days, I'd definitely do it.
If you're doing it at the beginning of your trip, some tips I have that might reduce the chaos/stress....
Have your Day1-3 stuff together either in a separate suitcase/bag so you don't even need to take the Day 3-8 days' stuff into the hotel with you. Or if you do take it in for safety reasons, you don't have to unpack it.
I'd try to wait to get any souvies until you are at your BW, so you don't have to transport it.
Talk it up that after xx day "we're going to somewhere new". Be very positive (even if you're stressed by the possibility) and prepare them for the change, and that it doesn't mean you're leaving Disney.
If you're needing crib, try bringing your own portable to provide continuity. I also always brought my own sheets/blankets even when I used hotel cribs because it was familiar to them. I actually did the blanket thing even into toddlerhood for them whenever I could.
Something my DH and I have always done is the AM we're checking out, I get up and do all the organizing, getting everything packed up and ready to go while DH takes the kids somewhere, when they were younger it was breakfast or a walk in the double stroller, since they've gotten a bit older, it's the pool. When he gets back, everything is all ready to go, except perhaps tossing clothes on the kids post-pool, and we load up the vehicle and head out. To the kids it's all seamless, and either (a) I don't get stressed because they're not there getting into everything or (b) if I do get stressed they don't see it or (c) both of the above! :rolleyes1

We did that this past October with my two boys ages 4 and almost 2. It was fine. We stayed at SSR and moved to VWL. We just called the bell service at 8ish and had them take our bags. We told them we needed them transfered, then we went to the park for the day. When we got back we had to check in, but our bags were waiting for us, and the new bell service brought them up to the room.
FYI we also went food shopping at Walmart, and rather then do tons of trips up with the bags, we had the bell service bring up the bags on a cart all in 1 trip. It was great!!!! But dont forget to tip them! :thumbsup2
Nah the kids seem to love the change......Pop Century and All Star are really fun resorts for the young kids too!!

We switched last trip.. My kids were 2, 8 and 9 ... there was no trouble at all... We packed light anyway & only had 2 HUGE suitcases so moving was not a big deal...Our kids loved it as we switched from OKW to WL and they had a blast at WL; so much that they did not want to go to any parks the last day.. We stayed at the pool all day...Switching allows us to spend a week.. I would do every time..I am doing it again in June.. Have not decided if before or after our OKW stay.Good Luck...

Thanks everyone! I decided to go for it!!!!! I just called WDW and booked two more nights at the beginning of our original trip! I am so excited!!!! Those two extra days are going to make the trip so much more relaxing! Thanks so much for your advice!
