for those of you who do split stays, do you find changing resorts mid stay stressful? Our next trip we may go a few days earlier then family and stay at wilderness lodge then meet with family and stay at another resort. We do not plan on renting a car, do those of you who do a split stay call a cab to transfer to different resorts? Please any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks a million.

We've only done one split stay and it was not stressful at all. Checked out of POR in the AM, Bell Services took our luggage over to BC while we went to Epcot via Bus for the day. Left Epcot after Illuminations, checked in to BC and had Bell Services bring us our luggage. Could not have been easier. :thumbsup2

Thanks, I was most worried about getting luggage from one resort to another, sounds easy.

Luggage transfers happen between 3-4pm. We usually keep a backpack of important items with us and transfer the rest and head to the parks. If that doesnt work well for you, you can take a cab and check your luggage into bell services at the new resort in the morning yourself (unless you get lucky and the room is ready at the new resort). I've done it both ways (Mostly let Disney do the transfers for us)

We did a split stay this past time. We actually went to MK for the morning, went back to our resort (WL), grabbed our luggage from Bell Service and took a cab to our next resort. This made it so we were never waiting on our luggage, and we checked in and went off to the next park. I thought it was plenty easy enough :goodvibes

We did it last year! Split stay between Boardwalk and the Poly.. I loved it.. I found the transition very seemless.. we checked out of our resort early in the morning as we had ressies at le cellier for lunch (it was mothers day).. we got over to Epcot and I said to my hubby maybe we should take the monorail to the poly before lunch.. we did.. and we checked in.. and went to our room (upgraded room) and this was all before 2:00pm (I knew that because our lunch ressies were for 2:45pm.. we also were upgraded at the poly (i think it helped that we were there earlier in the day for that..
The only thing that I didn't like was that I felt like once I was getting really used to the boardwalk and the area now we were switching.. other than that, loved it.

We enjoy split stays on longer trips of 10 or more days. I like to be able to stay at a resort at least 5 days.
We take a cab in the morning with luggage to new resort and check in. If our room isn't ready we just leave luggage with Bell Service and head to the parks.

Split is busy and big (it's Croatia's second largest city) but it remains one of the Adriatic's most fascinating ports with a long and eventful history.

We did our first split stay this past trip and loved it (we went from BCV to SSR)....it was so easy and Disney makes it so stress free. We had our luggage packed and ready to go before 11am. When the bellman came to our room, we told him we were checking out of BCV and then checking into SSR. He gave us a slip of paper to give to the bell services at SSR when we arrived. When we arrived to check in at SSR (it was around 1pm) and even though the room was ready, our bags had not made it over yet (the transfers go until 4pm). We decided to walk over to DTD for dinner and by the time we got back our bags were sitting in our room. We enjoyed this so much that we are doing another split stay when we return for our Aug/Sept trip :goodvibes.

An FYI--when you are leaving your first resort, make sure you have bell services picking up your luggage anywhere from 11am and 1pm...any later than 1pm, if I am not mistaken, you will then have to transfer your bags yourself...at least that is what bell services told us. Good luck and have a wonderful trip.
