Split Stays

I was wondering if anybody has done a split stay before?

I am looking at a last minute trip, but we can not find accommodation for our whole trip at the one hotel, so were looking at staying part of the trip at GCH and the other part at Disneyland Hotel.

Will they transfer luggage from one hotel to the other like the do at WDW when you do a split stay? I know it's not far between hotels, but just thought it may be easier to checkout and have the luggage transferred for us whilst we were out, then checkin at the Disneyland Hotel later in the day.

I haven't done it between resort hotels but we just did this from Fairfield Inn to GCH. It was super easy. In our case we took a taxi ($10), but the bonus was we were staying concierge at GCH so we left FFI early, checked into GCH and were able to use the lounge immediately. Took care of breakfast!

I have often thought of doing a split stay between DLH and GCH but haven't actually done it so I'm not sure how they handle the luggage issue. If you don't have that much, it would be easy to walk it over from one to the other. If you have a lot and they don't have some kind of transfer available, then just do a taxi. They have a minimum charge so it would cost about $10, which would probably be worth it anyway to have them handle all the luggage for you.

If there are more than 2 of you, you might consider concierge, if the price isn't too bad. There is food all day and we hardly spent anything extra for meals--we just ate in the lounge and took things with us. They also have beer, wine, and some liqueurs (I enjoyed Bailey's in my coffee). We had the Fall Getaway rate split 4 ways so it worked out to be more economical than a regular room. Four adults really get their money's worth out of the lounge food/drinks!
