Advise needed from all those who have split their stays between 2 or 3 resorts! Would you do it again? Was Disney transfer smooth? How do you do it? Thinking on split stay between Poly/BWI/POFQ, has anyone done this? Is it too much drama for 10 nights or just stay in 2 resorts? Just be the 2 of us, honeymoon!
Having a hard time making up our mind between all the resorts.

Thanks!

I like switching resorts personally. I like to check out the other places! I've never had a problem, Disney's luggage transfer service works out just fine (I know there are some that have had issues, but I personally haven't)

However, I do think maybe in your case that 2 resorts would be better? I don't know, it depends on your family. But, I know my DH likes the "settled" feeling on vacation and he personally doesn't like switching! But I think moving twice would be kind of...unrelaxed. I don't know. Great resort choices though!

We switch resorts every trip. We DVC members but dont use our points on the weekends (weekend points are killers! lol). So when we arrive we stay at Pop or another resort for the first night or 2 then move to our DVC resort. Its really not bad. Just leave your bags with bell services and they take it over to your new resort.
Our last June trip we stayed at Pop the Sat night we got in, moved to BWV for the next Sun-Fri, checked out Friday and stayed at Royal Pacific Resort at Universal til Monday then checked out and went back to Disney, stayed at the Poly from Mon-Sat.

Why not just split your stay between the Poly and BWI?? The Poly for monorail access to MK and Epcot and BWI so you take the boat or MGM/Epcot or just walk if you want.

We did this between Beach Club and POR last year. It was nice to try 2 different resorts in one trip. We did 5 nights at BC and 3 at POR. It was a very smooth move for us but we had a rental car. My husband actually went over to POR when he got up in the morning and got us checked in. I stayed behind and got everything ready to go. It was great because we were checked in so early we got all our room requests. We didn't get the room right away but it was a great location.

We are going to split between the Poly and Contemporary next year. My husband gets bored and likes the idea of moving and seeing different things.

I think it's especially nice if you don't do Disney every year and wan't to try and maximize the experience while you are there.

I guess I would say maybe split b/w 2 and not 3 but if your comfortable-go for it. :wave2:

I agree and I think splitting your stay is a great idea as long as you're up for moving during your vacation. I think you should always try new things in life to see if you like it or not. I believe that if you spilt your stays with a plan in mind it could help you see more that Disney has to offer.

I'm staying at AKL for 2 nights and I'm going to cover Animal Kingdom and really tour the park so I can see what I have missed. That way when I transfer to the Poly I can spend more time at my favorite park MK and not waste time on crowed bus going to AK. I think it will work out for me and I can experience another Disney Deluxe Resort and add it to my list of resorts I've stayed at!

I couldn't see myself trying more than two resorts in a week because of the time it would take to move around. I have heard of people trying 4 resorts in a 8 day vacation and that's too much for me but whatever works for you in the end is all that matters. Good Luck and may your trip be wonderfull!

I think it depends on the length of your stay and how much time you're going to spend at your resort(vs. away at parks, DTD, etc.) We have never switched. :earsboy:

This Aug DS13 & I are staying at 3 different places
VWL Aug 13-19; 19th we check out of VWL and into WL for Aug 19&20
Aug 21-27 we switch to BCV

First hand experience - DH and I stayed 2 weeks in September and split this into 4 hotels- WLV, POR, BCV and DBR. We are resourceful people, and love to be on the move, but this was too much - I would never do it again. Just as I was loving a hotel, I had to move, and didn't get to experience all that I wanted. We are going in June and splitting 11 days between AKL and POR. I think two is just right. We never had problems with our luggage being moved, but if you have a car, I believe it is even easier.
