split stays and dining plan?

Is it possible to have the dining plan if you are staying at 2 hotels? Does the dining package add on to my park tickets or does it have to link to the hotel also. Since there are 6 of us it could cost alot more to break down the tickets. Thanks. Sorry if I asked this in the wrong spot.

The dining plans are through WDTC packages. Two resorts would require two reservations, which would require tickets on both reservations.
Probably easier and cost less to stay at one resort.
