My question is for anyone who has had a split stay at the Disney resorts. If you really like the first hotel you are staying at can you stay at that hotel the entire stay if they have the availability? Will they transfer the money paid from the second half of your stay or do they have to cancel that reservation to keep you at the first hotel?

We did this the opposite way back in 2001. We were booked at, and fully paid up for, our stay at CBR. We had booked that trip through a Travel Agent and it had to be paid for in full before the trip. We had dinner about halfway through our trip at the Grand Floridian and my DH liked the looks of the resort, so we asked at the Front Desk if they had any rooms with a castle view. They did, so they moved the amount we had already paid for the remainder of our nights at CBR over to the GF, and we only paid the rate difference. What a difference though. LOL I don't see why it wouldn't work in reverse, as long as there was room availability. I hope it works out for you! :)

In Feb 2004 we had a split stay between ASMo and ASMu. We were in ASMo first for 4 days then had to transfer to Music for the final six days.
When we booked into ASMo we stated that we had the second reservation at Music but would like to stay for our whole trip at the one resort.
We were advised by the Supervisor (CM could not do anything and had to go see Supervisor) that he would take care of us.
It took three days and lots of confusion but the supervisor (Barry) did get the reservation from Music switched over to Movies. Part of the confusion was getting the same rate for the extra days at Movies, that took an extra day on its own. There was also a problem with the deposit on the Music reservation, somehow the deposit money got lost in the internal swapover and that took three days to figure out.
But it all worked out, and because of all the confusion over the move Disney compted us for a Dinner at the Coral Reef.
So in answer to your question it is possible, but you have to be right on top of people to make sure that everything gets done and your deposits are allocated to the correct rooms.
By the way because of this split stay I have made sure that I can stay in one resort for my full vacation.

Thanks for your help we'll be there next week with a split stay at BC and CR. we'll see what happens.
Thanks
