:wizard: We are doing a one night split stay this summer. First night at ASMo and then moving to FQ. We did this years ago but not just for one night. I know this must be answered somewhere, but does WDW transport your luggage for you to the new location? For those who have done it recently, what is the easiest way to change resorts? As I recall, last time it was a bit of a pain. Thanks!

Yes they will transport it for you. In the morning bring it to Luggage Assistance. They will tag it for you with the destination and give you a receipt. Luggage is transferred once a day in the afternoon. No matter what time you drop it off you will get it between about 4 - 6 PM. Pack what you need for the day in a day bag.
Alternatively you can take a taxi, Uber, Lyft or Minnie Van and bring it yourself and leave it with Bell Services if you new room is not ready.

They will also come get them from your room and transfer it. We’ve phoned from our room and they came to get our bags. We obviously tipped for that. But we have also taken our bags down ourselves to be transferred.

So my next question is how do we get to the resort? Do they also transport us or do we need to go to Disney Springs?? Does anyone know how much Uber might charge to go from resort to resort??? It would be for 2 of us. Thanks!!!

You are on your own to get to your next resort. Use Uber, Lyft, or a Minnie Van, or else take a bus to a park and then get onto a bus to the new resort. You can go on the Uber/Lyft app to calculate the cost.

You can use luggage transport, but we usually have a car, and just drive ourselves.

Otherwise, we just arrange to have bags transferred and head to a park. Then hard to new resort when you get text, or about 3-4pm.

The downside of free luggage transfer is that you don't have access to your stuff for a good chunk of the day. Last time we did this, and didn't have a car, we just hopped in a taxi. Price was very reasonable, taxi was very clean and fast.

If we are just staying one night, we don't unpack. Prep one outfit for everyone in advance, plus easy access to pj's, toothbrush/toiletries, and a hairbrush. If possible, don't even open other luggage.

Only other hassle is relocating groceries and chocolate. We avoid groceries, or bring a smaller soft cooler bag. and just use soda cans/water as 'ice' packs. Luggage services will store stuff in fridge, but I don't think luggage transfer transit is quick enough for highly perishable foods.

Disney won’t give you a personal ride to your next resort, but you’re welcome to use their transportation system. You can transfer at any theme park or Disney Springs.

There’s no need to go straight to POFQ, if Disney’s handling the luggage transfer. You can just go about your day: take a bus from ASMo to a theme park, Disney Springs ,a water park, and when you’re ready to go back to the resort, just hop a bus to POFQ.

There’s no need to go straight to POFQ, if
...If OP does online check-in. If she doesn't do online check-in and wants to access WDW package entitlements like the dining plan, she might want to go to the 2nd hotel before heading to the parks.

Somehow, when we do transfers, we usually feel like we still need to visit the 2nd hotel before we go to a park. Most often it is because we have a few groceries or we hope to swim before 4pm.

WDW doesn't promise rooms before 4pm, but sometimes rooms are ready early (in the am hours).
