Debating about doing a split stay next trip to WDW. We are DVC member so we stay at those resorts. We are thinking about doing a BLT and BC split next year. What are your thoughts on how long the stay should be to do a split stay. Is it worth it if we only spend 3 nights at each resort?

We're doing our first split stay, and excited about it. BC/Poly. 3 nights each seems great, because you can plan your touring around those resorts. Have fun!

I would say it is worth it. Those are two great resorts to stay at. Maybe 4 nights at the first resort you stay at 3 at the second. That first day never really counts anyway! I love both of those resorts. I would literally live at BLT. Wish I could work that into my contract.

We have done splits stays each time now. We love the MK and EPCOT resorts-those are great resorts. Last time we only could do 5 and 2. The 2 wasn't enough. So I think 3 and 3 is great. Enjoy@

3 nights is a good time at each resort. I had one trip that was 1 night at AKL, 4 nights at BWV, 2 nights at Kidani, 4 nights at Pop (had to get that free dining!), then 2 nights back at BWVs! I never knew where I was! So when I say 3 nights is a good low number, I mean it!!! 4 is perfect but most people stay 6 or 7 nights.

Wow that is a lot. We were thinking of doing 4 resort on our next trip - but I think we are doing 3. (I am chicken) :)

IMHO, you need at least 4 nights at each resort. We've done splits a few times and have done three nights, but, it never gave us enough time to tour the parks and get a chance to really enjoy the resort.

We just did a 1blt, 3 BCV and 3 poly and it worked great for us. Doing a last minute 6 nighters that is 2 SSR, 2 VGF, 2 POLY because I booked what I could get, working around those two nights at VGF which is a new resort for us.

I think 3 and 3 is the perfect split for a six night trip. You get to settle in a little and check out the resort enough to know if you want to stay there for a full vacation.

I would head to the bus stops and have to stand and try to remember what resort I was at on that particular day! I kept extending my trip....was supposed to start on a Monday, but got really cheap Sunday airfare, so added a night. Then a good friend arrived on Friday, the day I was supposed to leave, so extended, then got free dining at Pop, so added another 4 nights, and airfare was perfect if I added another two nights. I was staying on my DVC pts so other than Pop no cash was used! It was nuts.

When you get to the resort switch day, it may be better if you just take a cab from the first resort to the next one. You can have Bell Services move your bags, then you go to a park for a few hours, and then head to the new resort to get checked in. But, you may not have access to your bags until dinnertime! I have had Bell Services move my bags about 9 times...I have yet to get them before 4:30, and it's usually closer to 5:30....after handing the bags to Bell Services by 8am!! I now take a cab, with my bags, to the new resort, and get checked in. If the room isn't ready, I just leave the bags with BS...at least I know where they are and I can access them if I have to!

That is good idea. Or maybe send some bags. We usually have so many people and so many bags.

I think it's worth it for 3 nights. I feel it's enough time to decide if you'd like to spend more time at a particular resort. In January we did 3 nights at AKV which was great and definitely enough to tell us we'd LOVE to go back; followed by 2 nights at the Poly. Another night at the Poly would have been nice but we still got a basic feel for it.

I think 3 nights at each resort is a good mix. You can do MK and AK while at BLT, then Epcot and HS while at BC. So really it's even better than staying at just one of those resorts for the whole stay. Go for it!
Last winter I did a two week stay split between 5 resorts. AoA-1nt, AKL-1nt, GFV-2nts, SSR-4nts, and Disney's Vero Beach Resort 6nts. It was wonderful and So easy to use Bell Services for all except Vero Beach.
