I have another question for those that have done split stays. We are thinking a split ASMu an CBR, is it worth the hassel of checking in twice and unpacking twice on a 10 day trip?

I can't say as far as the hassle of the actual moving but CBR is awesome. We're doing a split CBR and BWV next trip. Hope you get some more helpful responses!

I'm also doing a split stay between ASMo & POR - I'm excited! I don't mind unpacking - it takes a whole 15-20 minutes.....

Then again, I never use the drawers, I just live out of my suitcase and hang up whatever is necessary!!

I did a split stay between POFQ & WL..I didn't have any problems..the resorts moved my luggage for me (I did not have a car). I liked it..it was like starting the vacation all over again :thumbsup2 .

We just came back from a split stay last week-transfer was MUCH easier than we thought!! Definately not like it used to be when I went to WDW as a child.

Here is some info on the transfer process from my trip report from last week if you are interested (see the top of post #9):

I personally loved the experience of a split-stay. It did feel like we were on two different vacations! :goodvibes

Thanks for the replies!! I think it will be like two vacations in one!!

That's the way we see it also. 10 days is a great length of time for split stay. I don't always fully unpack myself so moving isn't too bad. It will cut into some time during you moving day but unless you are one that has to fill every second with activity you won't mind it. And that first day at the second resort is like the start of a new vacation. :thumbsup2

I'm doing a split stay but not evenly split - 1 night at ASMu and 4 nights at AKL. The reason is b'c I don't want to spend $300+ for a room at AKL that I won't be able to get into until around 9pm at night! LOL.

So we'll pack the things we'll need for night #1 (ASMu) in a carryon (except liquids of course), then pack everything for days 2-6 in the checked luggage. Hopefully, we'll have most everything we need at hand even if our luggage doesn't arrive for hours!

I'm game to save a couple hundred bucks for sure!

We did one once, split between AKL and Poly due to Poly not having all the nights we were staying. Took the first 3 nights at AKL and then switched to the Poly for the next 8, I believe nights. Did not like the process, this was a few years ago and we checked out early to get to the Poly which we prefer, did not care for AKL and was not informed until checking into the Poly that our luggage and stuff would not be delivered until after 3 pm, this might have changed since then, but was a big inconvenience to us. We're of the kind that stays 8-12 nights and like to unload all our things, stash the food and drinks and set up the room with all our necessities and then just explore WDW.

We consider WDW our home away from home so its the necessities we bring and layout that aren't fun to pack up plus clothes and move to another resort to do again. I'm glad we had the experience once and won't do it again. If we're interested in another resort, we'll plan another vacation and stay there another time. Its a personal thing splitting stays but its not for us.

Did a POP/Poly split last August. Everything worked out great. We even got a free upgrade to concierge level!
