Can you tell me all of the good, bad and ugly of doing this. We are going next Dec with some friends and lots of family. We will be at POR for the first 5 days and are thinking about Poly for the last 5. How does that work with park tickets, dining plan etc.?

Is it a hassle to move? How do you move? etc.

we've done a split stay w/POFQ and AKL... it's a little bit of a hassle, your vacation is actually two separate reservations, you can carry over park tickets (i.e. a 10 day ticket will be fine for both legs of the trip) but you cannot carry over dining plan (if you have it on the first ressie, it expires on midnight of the day you check out of resort #1) and in order to get the dining plan on the second ressie, you will need to purchase a park ticket to make the second reservation a "package" (but a one day ticket is sufficient)...

as far as moving goes... what we did was pack our bags, call luggage services, tell them we were transferring to another resort and left them as instructed just inside the door of the room... we went to the park for the day and when we were ready to head back to our resort, we took the bus to our new resort and checked in... we had to wait on line all over again, get new keys to the kingdom for our dining plan (part 2), and had our park tickets transferred to our new keys...

the "hassle" is the time it took (to pack, unpack, check out, check in, etc)... plus getting aclimated to a new resort and it's layout and finding our way around...

but for five days in each place, i'd likely do it again (we only had 3 days in AKL when we split)...
