I think I know the answer to this but thought I would double check with the experts...

Hoping for one of those PIN codes others are receiving or at least a public offer for free dining in December. I was thinking it might be fun to do a split stay value and moderate in order to mix up the QS and regular dining plans.

Can I do a split stay and have it considered 1 package or would it be 2 separate reservations requiring 2 ticket purchases?

Disney doesn't recognize split stays. It would be 2 separate reservations.

It is 2 separate reservations and you will need to have 2 sets of tickets. Purchase the full ticket need (for however many days you plan to do parks) with the first, then just the minimum required (usually 2 days) with the second and keep those separate to put towards another trip. Or pay meals OOP for part of your stay if only a day or two.

Enjoy your vacation!

That's what I thought. Probably going to have to either do a single reservation or a split stay with room only for part...bummer!

Thanks all :)

You can do a split stay on one set of tickets if one of your stays does not include the DDP. You will want to upgrade your tickets to cover all the days on both stays. If the non-DDP room only reservation is 2nd it's easier. Just check in and keep on using your tickets. If your room only reservation is first, you may pick up your tickets from a package up to 3 days in advance. Check out this thread for more info: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1452684

You can also just go ahead and buy two sets of tickets and upgrade the first one to cover both stays and get just the minimum for the 2nd one. As long as you don't use your tickets they don't expire and you can stash it away for a future stay.

We're in the same boat...just booked a single reservation at POFQ for the night we arrive (hoping for a room only discount for Oct) and then a Resort Package with Free Dining (Sister's husband had a pin code:woohoo:). So we'll have to move to the BC the next day but that's okay. Would rather save the money on the late arrival night but on the upside we've always wanted to try the POFQ so it's a bonus. :)
