I would love to try Vero and I am thinking of maybe trying this next summer. Is going for 2 nights before Disney or after Disney..... long enough to get a taste of Vero or should we go for 3???

What she said!!!:goodvibes

(You scare me Denise! :scared1: We think a lot alike sometimes!:rotfl2: )

I would make it 3 nights at Vero. We have done it both ways, before and after WDW. DH prefers going to Vero after WDW, to relax. I am not sure which is better, I like it either way, but before AND after would be my preference:goodvibes

We did this for the first time this past June 24-July 2nd. We did our first three nights at Vero Beach and than came back to WDW and did four nights at AKV. We found three nights to be just right for us and it gave us a chance to unwind and rest up. It was a great way to start off after flying all day and getting things cleared up at home. It was fun to look forward to WDW at the end of the trip and our 2DS liked the way it worked out as well. It would have been even better if it had been more that a week long trip but that it's for us in summer. Xmas :cool1: is another story. Have Fun!!

Well our original plan (but people on this board that know me....know 'MY ORIGINAL' plan changes a lot) :lmao: was to go to AKV for 2-3 nights followed by a week at BCV...but our older son would really like to stay at VB. He asked last summer. We just added on to AKV and have never stayed there....but I am also a bit on the fence about staying at Kidani before all is completed. I kind of want to stay there but then again.....maybe waiting til summer 2010 might be better when all the kinks are worked out (if there are kinks).

Hey Joan!!!! Long time... How are you all?

Definitely stay 3 nights. I personally would say do VB last, but I have never done a split stay so I'll go with what mackeyapp says.

IMO 3 nights would be better but it depends on whether you wan to explore the town of VB and surrounding areas, even 3 days would not really be enough for that. For the resort only, 3 days/2 nights would be enough (3 better) unless you waste a lot of both the arrival and departure day. If I did only 2 nights I'd try to arrive fairly early and not leave too early on Departure day.

sorry to highjack ur post but just wonderin we have 5 nights at VB before 14nights at SSR from the 21st sept and im wondering due to weather on east coast do you think i should canx VB and go straight to SSR if we can get resv changed?? is 5 days to long to be there in the stormy conditions i believe VB is experiencing....???? :confused3

All I can say is what I'd do. I'd keep it for now. DVC has been really good about allowing flexibility if you had to change or cancel due to legitimate weather issues so if you had to cancel later you'd likely have more options than you do right now. That should be past IKE and hopefully things will settle down for a while.

thanks 4 that .... i thinks thats what we will do - wait till a day or 2 before we are due to leave then think about changing if need be..... hopefully everything will be magical again by then:cheer2:

Hey Rob

How are you?? It's a dull day here, waiting for the wind and rain. We are suppose to get the tail end of Hanna.

The four of us are busy making breakfast at the moment, waffles with fresh peaches...............yummy.

The boys are back to school now, went back on Thursday after a terrible summer here......weather wise. July was terrific when we came back from WDW but August was the worst we have seen in years. It rained 25 days of the month. Not a great pool year. Oh well we will hope for a better September. Hope you are both happy and well and everyone says "Hi"

Take care
Joan

I would go for 3. The first night you are still kinda settling in. If you go for 3 you have two more to really "be there" and take the resort in.

With only 2 - you have one night when you have just arrived - one night to be there and then you are leaving.

Next question...how long is the drive between WDW and Vero? Is it about an hour more or less??? Straight shot??? The more I think about it the more I think 3 n @ WDW and 3 n at VB would work best if we can get the right size units @ 7 months for our group. We might need to do a cash night at one or the other. Studios use less points than the larger units and we are "points challenged" but want to take extended family for my parents anniversary...not sure if we could get a combo of 4 studios or inn rooms at VB tho??:confused3 I am not so concerned about finding 4 units at WDW...it's VB that I don't know about. We're talking about going in mid-August when the points go down...

Depending on how you drive and/or which route you take it is more like 1-1/2 to 2 hours. I think your chances are pretty good in getting some combination of studio, OVIR, or GVIR. Good Luck. Sounds like family fun :thumbsup2

Ok Denise....just found this thread..

hmmmmmm;)

We just had our first stay at Vero and loved it! We only stayed 2 nights and I don't think it was enough. I would reccomend at least 3. Matter of fact, we are going back next summer and I plan on booking 5 nights. You will love it!
