Split Stay Questions

In my 30 years of going to WDW I have never done a split stay and it is something that we are considering for Thanksgiving I need help.

I won't have a car and I am considering a 2 night stay in a value or moderate resort and then renting DVC ath the Boardwalk for the last 5 nights. Someone please explain - does WDW take care of the transfer or will I need to check out and the go check at the Boardwalk. To make things even more confusing I will be traveling with a 17 month old...Would I be better off not to consider a split-stay?? HELPPPPPP

Yes you have to check in at both places. You will have to have 2 different ME reservations also, one for your hotel stay and one through Member Services for your DVC stay.

You will be without your luggage all day on your transfer day if you have Bell Services move it for you. I take a taxi and move my own.

You will have no idea when your DVC villa might be ready. Check in is AFTER 4PM at DVC resorts. Since you have to check out of the other resort by 11AM, you may be homeless for five hours or more. With a baby, I'd forget about doing any type of split stay.

If you don't already have a BWV reservation through a member for Nov 2012, you are much too late to get that. Unless you are planning for Nov 2013.
