Split stay question

First timer staying on site, so bare with me. Multiple questions, going to ask them all here hope that is alright.

Doing 1 night at ASMovies & then a week at POR, with dining plan. We are going to pick up our MB's early the first day and head to a park. (Picking up because Canadian res, no shipping.)

If dining plan is loaded, we have to use up the credits for that 1st night before starting on the credits for the POR reservation? How long do we have?

If we choose to grab a second MB when we check into POR, will the access to the tickets and dining plan for that week transition seamlessly to the new band?

When we check out of ASM, can we get our bags sent over to POR?

Any other advice or tips for transitioning from one resort to another?

You have until 11:59PM the day you checkout of ASM to use the dining credits. The 2nd magic band would work the same as the first. If you return in a year you could still use either of those 2 instead of the new one you'd get at that time.

Yes they will transfer your bags for you, but just know that even if you drop them off at 8am it could be 3pm or so until they are POR. We have only done this once but were very happy with it so doing an AKL/BC split stay this summer.

Just make sure you use up all your dining entitlements (incl mugs) on your checkout day before you start with the new plan. Also, it will likely help to officially check out. Someone here recently posted an extensive multi-split stay trip report and there was a lot of useful info in there.

Also, I'd suggest not charging tips/purchases to your MB after the first checkout (if you want to pay with gift cards). It will then get automatically get charged to your CC the next day. I forgot and used my MB for tips and my tips on my checkout night were charged to my CC.

I'd be able to answer this with more clarity after I do it in 6 months. I asked this question myself a month ago about it lasting until midnight of the checkout day. I don't have a dining plan for the second resort (but have Deluxe at the first) so I can say I'm sure you are fine if you don't try to use any entitlement from the 2nd resort until after you have consumed all from the 1st. What I can't say for certain is if you are using a table service credit for dinner on that day they overlap from the 1st resort, can you use a snack credit from the 2nd resort before completely using the 1sts entitlements.

Thanks for the post! Can you clarify what you mean about using up the mugs?

I read somewhere on the Dis that u should make sure u redeem your mugs as well. For some ppl, they may not want the mugs (or already have them) and do not redeem them.
