Split Stay Question

I will have the DXDP on both segments of my split stay in August (VWL/CSR). Will I need to use all of my VWL meal/snack allotments before checking into CSR? In other words, would I lose any remaining VWL credits once I check into CSR?

I don't know the answer to your question, but I would be interested to find out, but we were considering something similar to this. We were gonna do DxDP for 2 night stay at a delux and then switch to a moderate(hoping for free dining for the remaining 5 night stay) or vice versa depending on if and how FD was offered.

You will not lose them as soon as you check out, but they will be active only until midnight after you have checked out of the first resort. Also note that you cannot combine credits across reservations (if you have one credit remaining on your first reservation and you want to go to a 2 credit restaurant, you will not be able to combine that one credit with a credit from your second reservation to pay for a 2 credit meal. You can, however, pay for one person's meal out of the first account and another person's out of the second account, as long as the accounts have sufficient credits to purchase the meal.

The other consideration for split stays is that if you are purchasing packages with tickets in order to get the dining plan, you will need to buy tickets on both packages, although they can be as little as a one-day ticket for either package (two days for free dining).

the OP appears to be on DVC reservations so ticket purchases won't be relevant, but the second poster was considering this for free dining.

So will the system automatically finish all credits from the 1st stay (VWL) before taking credits from the second stay (CSR)? We will need to use credits from both stays during dinner but don't want to have them start pulling from our CSR before the VWL credits are depleted. I am just worried since I've read that the MDE information is available on all bands attached to your information so it's not like I can use my KTTW card for VWL until all credits are used and then change over to the CSR KTTW card which gave a cleaner separation between stays.

What also muddies the waters is that the kids will be eating some meals with their grandparents (the grandparents are also on a meal plan) without us so the final meal allotments will not end at the same time for the kids and adults in the room. I assume that the kids (DS8 and DD6) will be able to use their bands to charge the meals when we are not with them if we have them get separate checks when they dine with their grandparents.
