Split Stay question

We are booked for a night at Art of Animation before our DVC stay in June. We will also be staying at two different resorts (BWV and OKW) through the two week DVC stay. Question is do we pack our things up and they transfer our luggage or how does that work? Never done a split stay before. Thanks

For the first night like that, we just usually pack an overnight bag and deal with everything ourselves. For bigger moves, we use Bell Services. Just call them in the morning, tell them are you are transferring to X resort and want your luggage transferred there. They will take it from there. Luggage doesn't usually arrive at the next resort until mid to late afternoon, around check in time or later.

Make sure to leave some time for them to get up to your room and retrieve the bags from you. If they are busy, it can take a little while. They will give your bar coded receipts that identify each bag you give them, like claim tickets. Don't forget to tip.

Unlike Disney's Magical Express, you need to be in your room when they pick up and deliver your bags. When you get settled into the new room, simply call and ask them to bring up your bags.

It's best to take a small carry bag of anything you'll need on your transfer day, since you won't know what time you'll get your bags. Transfers typically happen in the late afternoon.

If you have anything that needs refrigeration, be sure to point those bags out. There are refrigerators and freezers in the luggage rooms at all resorts.

If we were to do it ourselves can you bring your bags on the buses and do it that way if we didn't have a rental car at the time?

When we did a split stay this past November we had to be in the room for the luggage to be picked up but they took it to our next resort and we went to the park. Once we check in that night at the new resort we told bell services we needed our luggage from the other resort. They sent it to our room within a few minutes of us getting to the room. It was a very simple process and the cast members were very helpful.
