We currently have the Beach Club booked for 7 nights and then the Yacht Club for 2 (the beach club was not available last two nights, this gives us a chance to try the yacht side). Anyway, flights are really high coming in that Saturday so we are looking at coming in Friday as the price difference is huge. We thought of booking AoA for that first night to check it out then head over to BC the next day.

My questions are will Disney move our luggage from each resort? Do you think this is too much movement? It would be a total of 10 nights.
Thank you for your help, we have never done a split stay.

Disney will take care of moving your luggage no problem. Just remember that they only move it once a day so it might not be available until later in the afternoon. We have done a split stay and are doing another one in February. We don't mind them at all. We actually just pack in segments so it works out fine. And the BC/YC move won't be an issue since it is basically the same resort!

I wouldnt consider it too much movement. From my experience, our splits have been done intentually to try new resorts and still stay at our favorites during the same trip. Since your first night is to save $ … you will not get any chance to settle in at AOA. 2 nights at YC will probably feel a bit on the short side but since you will be at BC i think you will still enjoy it. We always do

And Yes ... Disney will move your luggage for you but you might be better off moving it yourself. Resort luggage transfers happen between 3-4pm

Thank you. Yes, we figured it would give us a chance to check out the new resort. We would not go to a park just hang out at the hotel. We would probably pack a separate bag for overnight so we did not have to pull everything out and can move easier the next day.

I am trying to convince dh to take an extra day off, save the cash and go down a day early. BC is not available that night so thought we would save money and do a value. He is worried about having to move twice. It sounds like it should not be too much of a hassle.

When a lot of people do split stays, they will take a cab from one resort to the other if they don't have a car. This way you can keep your luggage with you as well and its likely a cheap cab ride.

We just got home from a split stay. When leaving BC, we called Bell Services to get our bags. They told us our bags would be at AKL between 1:00 and 3:00. They were there exactly at 3:00 which was perfect since we checked in at 2:45. During our homelessness, we spent the day at Epcot. I kept our valuables with us....iPod's, iPad, extra cash, etc. We then went back to BC for our final two nights and used Bell Services again. And again, our luggage arrived at BC at 3:00pm. Doing a split stay is very easy and seamless. There is really no need for a cab unless you want to go from resort to resort, but realize that your room probably won't be ready at your new resort. We must not have brought much stuff because we fully unpacked both times and it only took about 10 minutes to unpack and re-pack our stuff. I would do another split stay again in a heartbeat! :)
