I'm not sure where exactly to post this, and hoping someone can give me some insight to an unusual situation I have since it involves a Disney resort.
We are 40 days out from the beginning of our split stay. The first half will be at Marriott, the second half at BLT. Our family member who owns DVC made the ressies at BLT and we have all our dining and fast passes set up. Unfortunately, he had a medical emergency last week and our "concrete" plans now may have to be changed. His initial thoughts are to:
1. have us continue with our plans and go without him as he recuperates at home, or
2. cancel the BLT ressie and move it to another date further in the year for him, but we would still go to our Marriott and arrange for longer stay there. I should mention that this is a large family trip with 6 families going who would need to make those extra arrangements, and he doesn't want that to happen.
There is also the possibility that he will recuperate quicker (barring no unforeseen extra health issues) and will be well enough to attend with everyone, which is what we are hoping for his sake. (he loves WDW!) His illness in not life threatening, but would require time to heal. At this point we don't know how much time. (he is still in hospital)
So, my question is: If he has to cancel the BLT ressie and all my family's fast passes and dining are linked to my account, will they disappear if I no longer have that resort confirmation AND if I am within my 30 days for an off-siter to get fastpasses? In other words, if he cancels in a few weeks when we are in that 30 day window where offsiters can book FP+ anyway, will the system recognize that we are in our 30 day window and our plans remain? Or, if he cancels say.... 2 weeks before our trip.... will everything disappear since the fastpasses were made much earlier (60 days out)?
I know if he cancels within the next 10 days our plans will disappear since they were booked as part of the onsite stay at 60 days. He doesn't want to mess things up for the other families and honestly, he can't make a decision yet, until he gets more information about his recovery anyway. But we all are looking ahead to the possibility IF he has to cancel the BLT ressie. We also don't want him stressing about it now, when he needs to focus on his health, but he's adamant about going and doesn't want to cancel unless his doctor says he absolutely has to.
TIA!
