Currently staying at Poly, but was thinking of doing a split stay with Port Orleans riverside princess rooms. Girls are 5 and 3 and figured this would be a nice time for them to enjoy the room. Will this be a disappointment and not worth it. Or are the rooms that enjoyable for kids that it would seem like a good idea. Would do 2 nights at riverside then switch to poly rather than 6 nights at poly.

I wouldn’t split the trip. Poly is incredible and is arguably the best themed resort at WDW. The princess room at POR really doesn’t hold a candle to the Poly rooms.

I would not do a split stay for such a short vacation. Poly is definitely a much nicer resort all around. POR princess rooms are cute. With little girls, they would definitely enjoy the room and it would save some serious cash. The girls would be happy at either resort for sure. Choose the resort that makes the adults happy, be it amenities, location, or saved money.

Poly has the Moana themed rooms now. We went there in April 2022 and my daughter talks about how it’s her favorite hotel ever. I wouldn’t do a split, if you already had the budget for the Poly.

Kids at that age remember the pool the most. Have them in the pool when the MK fireworks start at the Poly. See if they talk about it.
If it is saving money for something else yes do POR first. Split stays are easy but you will be roomless part of the day so keep that in mind.

Its something I would do, but 6 nights only, if its your first trip, maybe not.

My kids just want a pool with a slide. I like both POR and Poly, but uh, maybe I shouldn't have started with Poly...now my kid is spoiled and expects that level every time :rotfl2:

I'm considering the exact same split stay, but not until mid-August 2025. It will be 10 nights at POR and 3 at Poly. I haven't stayed at POR before, but visited to dine a few times as OKW is almost next door, and it seems a lovely resort.

We've done plenty of split stays and love experiencing more than one resort per trip. Packing mid-trip is a pain, but Disney luggage transfer is painless in my experience, and they even keep food/beverage from your fridge chilled for you.
P.S. I would love more at the Poly but flights from UK, Disney and Universal tickets, car hire etc, I'm limited to only 3 as it's so expensive.

I would do 2 nights at CBR-new LIttle Mermaid rooms, then transfer to POLY. With CBR you will have easy access to HS and EP via Skyliner. I would avoid POR due to less ideal transportation options.
