Split stay pool question

Hey there,

I have a trip coming up next week and for the first 5 nights we are at AKL and the last 2 we are at OKW. My question is the day that we switch my parents decided that would be their resort day and would like to go to the pool, but since check out is 11 and check in is at 4 can they use the pool at either resort? if not they'll figure something out but they'd rather hang out at the pool

You have access to the resort and all amenities (including the pool) all of check-in day through all of check-out day. So on the day you're changing resorts, you'll actually have access to either pool at AKL and also any pools at OKW. Your choice all day!

Split stays have become a norm for us most trips. You'll enjoy it. It's like starting over with a new vacation! Note, that the main pools at both AKL and OKW have nice shower/changing facilities by their pools for you to use, wherever you end up going.

Split stays are awesome. Disney makes it so easy, and the change of environment makes the whole trip feel fresh.

yeah it was even intended to be a split stay, we originally were booked AKL from tuesday-tuesday but my brothers work has their end of year that week so we changed it to Thurs-Thurs so they can come down Saturday and have time to do all the parks. when i went to change the dates on the reservation the only day ALK didn't have available was that Wed so we had to do a split stay. hopefully i'll like it enough to do split stays more often

Our first split stay wasn't really intentional either. We added two nights onto the end of our trip bc the way the return flights were priced, it was either fly home on our original departure day, OR add two more nights and fly home a couple of days later for essentially the same amount of money. Obviously we chose to spend our money on two extra nights in Disney, and when we realized we'd be adding two nights we thought it was a good opportunity to check out a resort we hadn't stayed at yet. It worked out so nicely that we planned a split stay again for our upcoming trip.

Let you into the resort? The answer would be 'yes'. The day you arrive, your room is already assigned, they just don't give out the details until it's ready for you. So we've used the MB to enter the resort, enter the pool (like at BC/YC, where you need to show you're a guest of the resort to enter the pool), and even charge purchases to the room. I will say, however, that we always do the online check-in prior to arrival - not completely certain that everything works the same if you don't do the check-in prior, but I expect it's still the same since the MB and resort reservation should be linked together in the MDE account.

We just did this with Beach Club. Had a late flight out on check-out day and swam all the way into the afternoon.
