Split Stay-ME question

I am considering doing a split stay for my next trip in order to save some money. Can someone explain to me how Magical Express works if I do a split stay? Also, the day that I check out of the 1st resort and then check in to the 2nd resort room keys shouldn't be an issue if I'm doing room only and bought tickets separate correct? Thanks.

Just call Disney and they put ME from airport to hotel on the first part of your stay, and hotel to airport on the other end, it's no problem.

You won't have any problem with the room keys.

I just did this exact thing a few weeks ago. They had one way ME booked for both stays. The night before checkout I realized I had not received my envelope with pick up time on my door the morning before checking out. Of course I didn't realize this until after ME was closed for the evening! I called when they opened at 8am, they did indeed have my reservation in their computer, so adding me for an 11:30am pickup was no problem. I had the vouchers in the booklet that I received in the mail before we left home and those were what I used when boarding. Smooth as magic!
